The Corvallis Gazette-Times reports Pamela Sue Hediger, who entered the plea Tuesday, admits she pilfered more than $1.1 million from client and business accounts at her former law firm, Evashevski, Elliott, Cihak & Hediger, and duped investors out of their money. She also acknowledges filing a false federal income tax return for 2011 and failing to file federal tax returns for the years 2012-17. As part of the plea deal, the U.S. Attorney’s Office agreed to recommend a sentence of 46 months — just shy of four years — in prison. The maximum potential term on the charges is 15 years. Hediger is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 19. PROFESSIONAL TRUCK DRIVERS As the freight market fluctuates, your paycheck and miles shouldn’t have to. She was the second of three children born in Pendleton, Ore., to Georgia Alfa Albee and William Mont- gomery Albee on November 30, 1929. She and her siblings John and Bill Albee moved to Ontario, Ore- Webb gon City and then to Klamath Falls, Ore., where she graduated from high school. The fam- ily moved back to Pendle- ton where she met the love of her life and business part- ner, Donald Dean Webb. They were married in 1950, celebrating 68 years of marriage. JoAnne worked for the Farm Bureau and the Nirschel Brothers car deal- ership but in 1959 she and Don bought the Smyth Bar- thel plant and Webb’s Cold Storage was born. Many hard and wonderful years of growing that business as well as raising their three children occurred until 1980, when JoAnne retired from Webb’s Cold Storage to join Don in his dream to own the Rainbow Café, which culminated in a sec- ond retirement in 1990. So many happy memo- ries of friends, old and new were highlights of their life together. JoAnne volunteered many years for the Ameri- can Red Cross blood draw- ings, voter polls on elec- tion days and at the Bargain Counter Thrift Store. A favorite past time use to be finding funny cards to give her friends of the “Old BBC.” She was a lot of fun to be with and enjoyed laughing and sharing adven- tures of all sorts with friends. JoAnne was preceded in death by her grandparents Bes- sie and Alfred Marquis, her father Bill Albee, her mother “Georgie” Albee, her step- father Harold “Mac” McK- een, her older brother John Albee and her middle son Douglas William Webb. She is survived by her husband Don Webb; her children Dave Webb and Wendy Carames; daughter- in-law Storm Webb; grand- children Hannah (Adam) Gardner, Hank Webb, Ross Webb, Kasey Carames, Ben Webb and Rachel Webb; and great-grandchildren Georgia Gardner and Vyery and Qaida Faira.
