had their own get-together in the road at
East Elm Avenue and Northeast Stoddard
Lane, Hermiston.
8:35 a.m. - Another 911 call came in
about those animals in the road.
8:50 a.m. - OK, something is going on.
Cows were on private property and the
Willow Creek Country Club on Highway 74
outside Heppner. The owner of the cows
herded them to the right property.
Maybe there’s a joke somewhere about
cows and golfing.
“Why were the cows on the golf
course?”
“They were fore-aging.”

PORTLAND (AP) —
Oregon has banned camp-
fires and open flames at all
state parks following Gov.
Kate Brown’s wildfire emer-
gency declaration this week.
The Oregonian/Oregon-
Library reported a woman refuses to
return several items worth a total of $185,
including eight DVDs, and she has a large
overdue fine.
2:05 p.m. - Pilot Rock police received a
report of a possible stalker.
2:50 p.m. - Pilot Rock police found
vandalism on Northeast Cherry Street.
6:48 p.m. - A driver at the Pilot Travel
Center, 2115 S. Highway 395, Stanfield,
had some trouble. He reported his car does
not go in reverse, so he asked the driver in
front of him to move. That driver refused.
The gas attendant told the driver to move
and still the driver refused to move.
7:48 p.m. - A woman asked the Morrow
County Sheriff’s Office to check on the
welfare of her friend on Threemile Road,
Boardman, after the friend sent a text
stating, “SOS I need help.” The caller said
she went to his residence but he did not

answer the door or his phone.
8:24 p.m. - A semi driver called 911 to
report she was at Love’s Travel Stop, 78665
Tower Road, Boardman, when a man
collided with her Freightliner and now is
yelling at her and she felt afraid of him.
ARRESTS, CITATIONS
•Pendleton police arrested Jared Elias
Case, 24, of 49365 Cayuse River Road,
Pendleton, for domestic violence fourth-de-
gree assault. Umatilla County Circuit Court
records show the district attorney’s office
Friday morning added harassment to the
initial charges at Case’s arraignment.
And District Attorney Dan Primus filed
a motion to disqualify Circuit Judge Eva
Temple from hearing the case because “the
state believes that it cannot have a fair and
impartial trial or hearing before such judge.”
Circuit Judge Christopher Brauer granted
the request.
