THIS OLD HOUSE Victorian home stood empty for 23 years after moved from country club to McKay Creek By KATHY ANEY East Oregonian T he house appears straight out of a spooky movie. One almost expects the front door to creak open and a ghostly spirit to beckon or a bat to fly out into the night. Peeling paint, wrought iron railings and scalloped shin- gles give the southern Victorian an eerie ambiance. The house, despite its abandoned ap- pearance, is undergoing a metamorphosis. Brent Webb, a Pendleton native who currently lives in Utah, recently bought the house to restore and renovate. Webb is the third owner since the 120-year-old house was put on wheels and moved in 1995 from a lot near the first hole of the Pendleton Country Club golf course to a lot overlooking Community Park on Southwest Marshall in Pendle- ton.
