THURSDAY, MARCH 29 CHESS, PHYLLIS — Visitation and viewing from 2-4 p.m. at Daniels-Knopp Funeral Chapel, 1502 Seventh St., La Grande. 1:40 a.m. - Hermiston police received a report of graffiti at Southeast Seventh Street and East Newport Avenue. The police department received another graffiti complaint at 7:56 a.m. at Newport Park on East Newport Avenue, and a third at 11:22 a.m. on Southeast Sixth Street. 7:39 a.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of needles in the parking lot at the Irrigon Shell station. A deputy disposed of the needles. 8:16 a.m. - Irrigon residents at a home on Southeast Eighth Street received a complaint for letting their dog defecate on other people’s yards. 8:33 a.m. - Two shed antler hunters are going to receive citations for trespassing, according to Oregon State Police. They were on private property off Cottonwood Creek Road, a few miles east of Milton-Freewater, when a land- owner caught them, and a person with the landowner told them to leave. On their way out, they picked up more sheds, state police reported, and later posted photos of their finds on social media. The landowner reported he wanted state police to cited them for trespassing. Trooper John Juzeler told the two the citations were coming. The state police daily media report did not identify the people involved in this incident. 9:50 a.m. - A Hermiston resident on West Ridgeway Avenue told police she wants to know who owns a certain house because she wants to replace the fence. She also said she has concerns about what neighbors burn in the backyard because they don’t watch the fire to make sure it does not get out of control. 12:38 p.m. - A member of the Spofford Road Neighborhood Watch outside Milton-Freewater reported a burglary at a garage on Telephone Pole Road. 12:46 p.m. - Oregon State Police reported more shed hunters where they did not belong, and again the agency did not provide names of people involved. Trooper John Juzeler was patrolling the south fork of Walla Walla River Road near Harris Park, several miles southeast of Milton-Freewater, when he saw someone driving slow in a pickup. The driver stated he was checking out the park. But he was not in the park, and the trooper did not believe him. The driver admitted he trespassed on private property and was picking up a friend who was waiting in some bushes. They has been shed antler hunting, state police reported, and took a shortcut through private property to get on the road. The trooper contacted the landowner, who did not want to sign a citation. One of the pair had elk horns, and the trooper seized those and gave him a warning. 1:13 p.m. - Umatilla residents on Barton Loop reported the neighbor has been repeatably yelling at them as they build their house, and he is getting more aggressive. 4:29 p.m. - A solicitor drew a complaint from a Hermiston resident on East Main Street. She said the man came to her home and said he was with “ADT” and wanted to update her security system. She said he wanted to come in the home, but she did not let him. She described the man as well dressed, about 35 years old, white, 5 feet 11 inches tall with brown hair, no facial hair and no tattoos. 4:34 p.m. - A Boardman man on Rippee Road told the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office he has been dealing with large parties in the neighborhood. More than 100 people attend the parties, he said, which he believes violates county codes. 4:52 p.m. - A woman told Hermiston police her ex-partner was abusive to her and her children.
