RECORDS Wednesday, March 14, 2018 PUBLIC SAFETY LOG 2:56 a.m. - Hermiston police responded to East Gladys Avenue to look for a possible prowler. 5:49 a.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a prowler in Irrigon. The suspect may have been in a garage, but took off over a fence before the deputy arrived. 7:30 a.m. - Milton-Freewater police took a report of graffiti on the 200 block of East Broadway Avenue. The department took a second report of graffiti at 5:42 p.m. at a different location on the same street. 7:32 a.m. - Pendleton police took a report for a vehicle theft on Northwest 11th Street. 10:35 a.m. - A caller on Southwest Eighth Street, Pendleton, reported the theft of a hope chest from his residence sometime within the last two weeks. 10:58 a.m. - A Hermiston resident on North Ott Road reported a burglary. 11:48 a.m. - Staff reported a fight at Irrigon Junior-Senior High School, Irrigon. 1:49 p.m. - Four people, maybe more, are living in a shed on Hemlock Court, Umatilla, a caller reported, which would violate city code. 3:47 p.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a burglary at Columbia River Auction, 80571 Highway 395, Hermiston. 3:54 p.m. - Not cool, not at all. An Ione man on South Birch Street reported the theft of his comic book collection. The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the case. 4:15 p.m. - A Boardman resident on Second Street Northeast reported two males came to her house, showed her a gun and said they would hurt her. Police contacted the two and found they had no gun. Officers trespassed the pair from the residence. 6:46 p.m. - Three females were involved in domestic violence on East Main Street, Athena. 8:15 p.m. - Umatilla police responded to a 911 report of a domestic disturbance at Country Club Manor, 605 Umatilla Ave. 8:31 p.m. - Street lights — not traffic lights — were blinking along East Main Street, Hermiston. 9:39 p.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of three girls sending harassing text messages to a boy in Irrigon. A deputy spoke with the victim, who then blocked the girls from contacting him on the phone. 10:35 p.m. - Pendleton police received a 911 call from a 50-year-old man who reported his father hit him. Milton A. ‘Milt’ Barron Anthony James ‘AJ’ Severns Hermiston Mitchell, Neb. November 20, 1963 - March 9, 2018 March 2, 1929 - March 8, 2018 Milton A. “Milt” Barron was born on March 2, 1929, in Dansville, New York, to parents Arthur Isaac and Mildred Somers Barron. He died on March 8, 2018, at his home in Herm- iston, Oregon, at the age of 89 years. Milt was raised on Maple Grove Farm near Nunda, New York. He graduated from Nunda High School in 1948 and served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany until his honorable Barron discharge in 1952. Milt moved west and worked on the construc- tion of Brownlee Dam where he met Shirley Marie Blank. They were united in marriage on August 17, 1957, in Reno, Nevada. Milt worked for Roger’s Construction building freeway from Cali- fornia to Idaho, including the construction of Inter- state 84. They settled in Hermiston, Oregon, in 1965 and built their home in 1968. In 1980 they founded Bare-Wite Construction; their family operated the paving and excavating busi- ness until retiring in 2001. Milt was an avid hunter and reader who enjoyed fishing, farming, his farm animals, riding his ATV and, above all, cherished time with his family. He is survived by his children: Keith (Teresa) Howard of Florida, Gregory (Carma) Barron of Irrigon, Kathleen (Mark) Wilkerson of Pendleton, Tami (Mark) Watson of Umatilla, Joan (Tim) Reese of Ritter, Kipp Barron of Umatilla, Anita (David) Baumgart of Irrigon, and Jason (Mindy) Barron of Hermiston; 27 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchil- dren; sister Alida (Bob) LaDelfa, Mt. Morris, N.Y.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Milt was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Marie Barron; his parents; his parents-in-law; daughter-in-law Kimberly Barron; grandson Matthew Jason Barron; and sisters Mary, Athrena and Evelyn. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Burns Mortuary chapel, Herm- iston, Oregon. Burial with military honors will follow at the Sunset Hills Ceme- tery, Umatilla, Oregon. Anthony James “AJ” Severns of Mitchell, Nebraska, former Pendleton, Oregon, resident, was born on November 20, 1963, in San Fran- cisco, California, to parents James J. Severns Jr. and Blanche Cecilia Faro Severns. He died on March 9, 2018, in Portland, Oregon, at the age of 54 years. AJ attended schools in Pend- leton and then joined the United States Army where he trained to become and x-ray Severns technician. After his honorable discharge he worked as a x-ray technician in Tacoma and Enumclaw, Washington. AJ then worked in medical coding and transcription for several years. He has lived in Nebraska for the past nine years where he studied theology. AJ was an active member of the Boys Scouts as a youth. March 14, 1954 - December 28, 2017 Former local resident Wanda N. (Gerard) Smith died Saturday, March 10, 2018, in Springfield, Ore. A full obituary will follow in the East Oregonian. Randy L. Moe, aged 63, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017, at the Saint Francis Hospital emer- gency room in Federal Way, Wash. Randy was born March 14, 1954, to Marvin and G. Irene (McComb) Moe, and was the oldest of three children. Randy attended Timberline High School in Lacey, Wash. He was a traveling soul who lived his life to the fullest wherever he was, most recently visiting his mother in Pendleton, Ore. Randy believed in the healing power of love, the Lord, and rock & roll. Randy will be missed and grieved by many. He is survived by his mother, his siblings, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
