about a juvenile throwing snowballs at passing vehicles at
the KFC, 1615 S.W. Emigrant Ave.
6:10 p.m. - A 911 caller reported a peeping Tom at
Brooke RV Park, 5 N.E. Eighth St., Pendleton.
6:53 p.m. - Hermiston police took a report of a burglary
on the 900 block of West Hermiston Avenue.
10:24 p.m. - A Hermiston caller complained about
loud music on Southeast Fifth Street, and at 11 p.m.,
another Hermiston caller complained about noise on East
Catherine Avenue.
No report on whether the noises were the jingling of
bells or the thumping of reindeer hooves.
MONDAY
8:39 a.m. - Pilot Rock police took a call about an
aggressive dog on Southwest Fifth Street.
4:26 p.m. - An Irrigon livestock owner reported two dogs
were hurting his cows. The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office
was not able to find the owner of the dogs.
7:25 p.m. - A resident of Pendleton Square Apartments,
300 S.W. 28th Drive, reported telephonic harassment.
10:03 p.m. - Hermiston police took a burglary report
from the 1000 block of Southwest 11th Street.
ARRESTS, CITATIONS
Sunday
•Pendleton police arrested Kody L. Rooper, 23, of
Pendleton, for driving under the influence of intoxicants.
Monday
•Pendleton police arrested Megan Rene Bass, 25, 322
N. Main St., Richland, for interfering with a peace officer,
resisting arrest, attempted assault of a public safety officer
and on a warrant.
•Morrow County Sheriff’s Office responded to the
Columbia River Ranch, a mental health residential
treatment facility at 70362 Kunze Lane, Boardman, for
a resident that broke a chair and threatened staff. The
sheriff’s office arrested Justin Venema, 28, for menacing
and third-degree mischief, both misdemeanors, and
attempted second-degree assault, a felony.
•Umatilla Tribal Police arrested Javier Francisco Vigil,
46, of Pendleton, for domestic abuse and assault.
•The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office at about 7:30
p.m. responded to the Northwestern Motel, Heppner, for a
report of domestic violence. The caller said the victim had
a head wound and was scared for her life, and the suspect
was the victim’s boyfriend. Deputies arrested Shaka Isaiah
Klang, 22, of Portland, for fourth-degree assault, harass-
ment and third-degree mischief.

•Pendleton police arrested Matthew Drew Cleaver, 44,
of 2774 Norwood Drive, Nyssa, for felony possession of
methamphetamine.

charged with robbery.
Akron police say the
man walked into a local
Circle K store Monday
afternoon waving what
appeared to be a rifle
and demanding cash. An
employee realized the rifle
was a fake and confronted
the man with the help of
three customers.
The man tried to flee
but was subdued and
detained by the people
in the store until police
arrived. He has been
charged with aggravated
robbery and is scheduled
to appear in municipal
court Wednesday.
Police say the man had a
pole, a fake scope, a spring
and two table legs fastened
together to look like a rifle.

Max D. Renick, 81, of Irrigon died Monday, Dec. 25,
2017, in Richland, Wash. He was born Jan. 13, 1936, in La
Grande. A graveside service with military honors will be
held Saturday, Dec. 30 at 11 a.m. at Sunset Hills Cemetery
in Umatilla. A celebration of life service will follow at 1 p.m.

25, 2017, at a local hospital. He was born April 24, 1928. A
