2A COLUMBIA BASIN CONFERENCE
T
he Columbia Basin Conference was a three-horse
race last year between Pilot Rock, Weston-McEwen
and Culver and in the final year of the conference,
it appears it could be a three-horse race again battling
for the two playoff berths. However, Heppner returns
a lot of experience including do-it-all players Morgan
Correa and Jacee Currin and could look to spoil the party
throughout the season.

against. I want to add
stability to the program as
I will be the fourth head

had to deal with more
change than they should
have had to.”
Head coach: Daniel Sharp, 4th season
Assistant coach: Jessenia Carillo, 1st season
2016-17 season: Stanfield ended last season
with a 4-16 overall record, and 1-7 record in CBC.

Savannah Sharp, soph.
Sharp’s expectations: “We want to
make the district tournament. We expect to
compete and give effort for our teammates and
represent our school positively.”
Offensively the Tigers try to move the ball and
keep the floor spaced, according to Sharp. “Our
hope is to get the best shot that we can,” he said.
Defensively, “we want to be smart and keep our
hands off of people, but be annoying enough that
people have to work for shots against us,” Sharp
adds.
