2:06 p.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s
Office took a report of a telephone solicitor
violation from a resident on West Ferndale
Road, Milton-Freewater.
3:13 p.m. - The audible burglary alarm
went off at N.W. Metal Fabricators Inc.,
80496 N. Highway 395, Hermiston. Rather
than a bad guy, however, an employee
entered a bad password.
THURSDAY
9:12 a.m. - Umatilla police took a report
of graffiti at Columbia Boulevard and
Willamette Avenue.
7:53 p.m. - Residents at the Horseshoe
Apartments, Umatilla, prompted a call to
police for making too much noise.
9:30 p.m. - A man at the Pilot Travel
Center, 2115 S. Highway 395, Stanfield,
told police he went in to use the restroom
and his son left with the grandkids in a gold
van with Indiana license plates.
11:37 p.m. - Umatilla police received a
report of a husband causing problems at
Umatilla Inn & Suites, 1370 Sixth St.
FRIDAY
5:08 a.m. - A 911 caller reported a male
and female were fighting in a car parked at
Birch Creek Road and Main Street, Rieth,
and the female was screaming. The caller
gave no more description about the car
or occupants, and the Umatilla County
Sheriff’s Office ended up canceling the
response.

A Yamhill County judge has
denied a motion to dismiss a
complaint filed by a vineyard
owner against aspiring mari-
juana growers.
The vineyard owner,
Momtazi Family LLC, claims
marijuana odors would
damage wine grapes with
Flower
Topicals
Edibles
Concentrates
and more
“foul-smelling particles.”
The Capital Press news-
paper reports Steven, Mary
and Richard Wagner asked the
judge to throw out the lawsuit
because there was no evidence
that odors would cross prop-
erty lines and because the
planned marijuana operation
wasn’t yet definite. They also
cited the state’s right-to-farm
law, which prohibits nuisance
and trespass lawsuits against
common farming practices.
Judge John Collins said
the right-to-farm law doesn’t
provide the growers with
blanket immunity, but can be
used as a defense later in the
case.
