FRIDAY
7:10 a.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Offi ce took a theft
report from a resident of East Main Street, Ione, who reported a
log splitter stolen sometime within the last week and a half.
8:43 a.m. - A report of an elderly woman in her parked
vehicle in a strange position on Bombing Range Road,
Boardman, over the line with her head back and mouth open,
sent the Boardman police and an ambulance to the reported
scene, but responders found no one in distress.
6:40 p.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Offi ce was called by
Wheeler County to assist in a search for a 22-year-old man who
has been missing since Aug. 30.
SATURDAY
2:46 a.m. - Boarman police, fi re and ambulance crews and
the Morrow County Sheriff’s Offi ce responded to a motor vehicle
accident on eastbound Interstate 84 near Boardman. A woman
complaining of back pain was transported to Good Shepherd
Medical Center in Hermiston for treatment.
7:11 a.m. - A resident of Highway 74, Ione, reported that
the Morrow County Grain Growers have ammonia trailers
parked east of his residence and he could smell ammonia. He
requested someone check the trailers for a leak. Ione ambu-
lance and fi re crews responded.
SUNDAY
3:20 a.m. - A juvenile male reported missing from a treatment
center in Baker City was located by a Morrow County sheriff’s
deputy on foot in the fast late westbound on Interstate 84 near
Boardman. The juvenile was returned to the treatment facility.
1:52 p.m. - A man was boxed in by two brothers on Highway
74 near Heppner and one of the brothers came to the victim’s
window and pulled a knife on him. The Morrow County Sheriff’s
Offi ce took a report.

Friday
•Milton-Freewater police arrested Beverly Evans, 71, 648
College St., Milton-Freewater, for driving under the infl uence of
intoxicants (alcohol).
•The Morrow County Sheriff’s Offi ce arrested Francisco
Ivan Ramirez, age not provided, 451 Tatone St., Boardman,
on domestic violence charges of fourth-degree assault and
harassment (offensive physical contact).
•Pendleton police arrested Nina Nicole Madrigal, 22, and
Omar Ledesma Almonde, 24, at a Pendleton address for felony
aggravated third-degree assault and menacing, a misdemeanor.
•Pendleton police arrested Laurel Rae Cassidy, 35, address
not provided, for aggravated fourth-degree assault, a felony.
•Hermiston police arrested Anthony Gerald Aldridge, 48,
address not provided, for second-degree assault and unlawful
use of a weapon.

•Milton-Freewater police arrested Victor Saldana, 24, 1021
N.E. Fourth Ave., Milton-Freewater, for duii (alcohol) and
reckless driving.
Sunday
•Tanya Leeanne Gill, 25, address not provided, was arrested
by Pendleton police for misdemeanor possession of metham-
phetamine and third-degree theft at Walmart.
•Pendleton police arrested Alejandro Flores Escalera, 20,
address not provided, for felony and misdemeanor attempt to
elude police, reckless driving, giving false information to police
and on a misdemeanor probation violation.
•Oregon State Police arrested Brett Ronald Leake, 55,
address not provided, for possession of methamphetamine, a
felony, and misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest, attempted
assault of public safety offi cer and third-degree escape, and on
a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant.

her eternal life on September
1, 2017.
She was born to Daniel
B. and Myrtle M. Stallings
Navy on July 21, 1929, in
Lincolnton, North Carolina.
The family moved
to Troy, North Caro-
lina, living there for
a few years before
moving to Biscoe,
North Carolina. It
was in Biscoe that
she met Raymond
C. Barrett; the
couple married on
April 2, 1950.
Lib
enjoyed
being with her Barrett
family, especially
her grandchildren,
playing games and laughing,
and was truly an easygoing
personality. The fi rst to laugh
at herself, she brought joy
and happiness to all who
knew her.
She was preceded in death
by her parents, her younger
sister Dorothy, and her
beloved husband Raymond.

Dale W. Baker, 83, of
Lexington passed away peace-
fully on Sunday, September
3, 2017, in Heppner. A grave-
side service will be
held on Thursday,
September 7, 2017,
at 11 a.m. at the
Lexington Ceme-
tery.
He was born June
29, 1934, at Condon, the son
of E.O. and Alda Kennedy
Baker. Dale’s family moved
to the Oregon coast and then
to Upper Rhea Creek near
Heppner where his parents
purchased the Black Burn
Saw Mill. He attended school
at the Rhea Creek School with
teachers Margaret Glavey and
Margaret Cason. He fi nished
school at Heppner High.
The family lived on several
farms on Rhea Creek, before
settling in Lexington.
Dale was drafted into the
United States Army in 1957,
and was stationed in France.
He entered the Reserves after
his honorable discharge.
Upon his return he went to
work at Kinzua Pine Mill in
Heppner where he retired
after 39 years.
On February 6, 1940, he
married Carol Groshen at
