THURSDAY
2:17 a.m. - The Morrow County
Sheriff’s Office sent a deputy to a resi-
dence on Willow Fork Drive, Boardman,
after a woman there reported she and a
man were in a dispute and he stepped on
her toe, causing it to bleed. The deputy
found they had an argument and she
declined medical services for the toe.
2:40 a.m. - Hermiston police found
graffiti at Theater Sports Park, 1800 N.W.
Sixth St., Hermiston.
7:12 a.m. - Hermiston police received
reports of two vehicles running into each
other several times at East Theater Lane
and Northeast Eighth Street, Hermiston.
Police did not find the vehicles or drivers.
7:27 a.m. - Milton-Freewater police
took a report of new graffiti in the
restrooms in Freewater Park, 17 N.E.
Eighth Ave., as well as damage to some
sprinkler heads.
10:11 a.m. - Pendleton police received
a complaint about a downtown business
issuing bad checks to employees.
10:48 a.m. - Hermiston police received
a complaint about dust coming from
the Umatilla County Fair at the Eastern
Oregon Trade and Event Center, 1705 E.
Airport Road, Hermiston.
12:57 p.m. - Umatilla police responded
to Buck’s Corner at the intersection
of Highway 395 and Highway 730 for
complaints about a person leaving
garbage.
1:48 p.m. - A Hermiston woman
reported she lost her keys or someone
stole them, and before she changed locks
and got new keys someone opened her
mailbox.
3:55 p.m. - Pilot Rock police talked
to a resident on Southwest Birch Place
about the state of her property. She
signed a letter to help clean up her
property and be in compliance with the
city’s code.
6:53 p.m. - Juveniles shooting guns
toward houses on Wagon Wheel Loop,
Irrigon, prompted a call to law enforce-
ment. The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office
talked to the responsible party.
8:53 p.m. - The Morrow County
Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of
a man with a tank top sitting on the side
of Interstate 84 near Boardman. A deputy
gave the man a ride to Arlington.
9:05 p.m. - A male on Northeast
Douglas Street, Pilot Rock, told police he
let “Amber” — he did not know her last
name — borrow his pickup, and she has
not returned.
10:05 p.m. - A Hermiston man on
East Gladys Avenue reported receiving
texts threatening “to do something to his
house” when he was asleep. However, he
said, he did not know who sent the texts.
11:47 p.m. - A male told Pendleton
police someone assaulted him 20 minutes
ago at Southgate Sinclair & Foodmart,
710 Southgate Drive. He declined medical
help and said he was now at home to talk
to police.

Death sentence for dogs
that attacked Oregon girl

(AP) — Four dogs have been
given a death sentence for
attacking an Oregon girl in
June.
The Herald and News
reports
three
Klamath
County commissioners voted
unanimously Thursday that it
was in the public interest to
euthanize the animals.
Vincent Berry owns the
English mastiffs and has 10
days to appeal the decision to
circuit court. His sister says
they will take that step.
