OBITUARIES
TUESDAY
1:34 a.m. - A resident of Brooke RV Park, 5 N.E.
Eighth St., Pendleton, told police a man she knows
threatened to shoot her and her husband in the past,
and now that man told her not “to get on his bad side”
while he is looking for a certain person.
3:51 a.m. - Pendleton police responded to another
report of a prowler at Indian Hills Village Apartments,
1335 S.W. Second St., Pendleton, but officers did not
find anyone.
7:21 a.m. - Pendleton police received a request
to run extra patrols at Southwest Hailey Avenue and
30th Street, where someone egged cars.
9:16 a.m. - A Heppner resident told the Morrow
County Sheriff’s Office she wanted the agency aware
of the scam call she received claiming her Social
Security number was suspended. She also said she
would call the Social Security Administration.
10:32 a.m. - A resident of Third Street, Umatilla,
told police a woman in a red car stopped in front of his
house and left trash and beer bottles on the ground.
11:34 a.m. - Staff at the Hermiston Quizno’s, 1565
N. First St., No. 9, told police there is a woman they
don’t want to come into the business any more and
asked for an officer to deal with that.
12 p.m. - An Oregon State Police trooper during
a traffic stop on Interstate 84 near milepost 213
eastbound found one passenger in a Chevrolet pickup
was reported as a missing person in Umatilla County.
The man and others in the pickup were camping
for a few days and did not have cellphone service.
Law enforcement told people who reported the man
missing that he was fine and would contact them
soon.
12:56 p.m. - Morrow County sheriff’s deputies
contacted people on Kunze Lane, Boardman, for
using recreational vehicles as residences, a violation
of county laws. The deputies plan to return in two
weeks to see if the RVs are still there.
2:49 p.m. - A man told Pendleton police someone
slashed the tires of his vehicle on the 2200 block of
Southwest Dorion Avenue.
7:03 p.m. - A caller with the Cunningham Sheep
Co., Pendleton reported the theft of a company pickup
from the corrals off Interstate 84 near milepost 238.
7:44 p.m. - Umatilla police received a 9-1-1 call
that a local woman offender punched someone at
G & G Rentals, 2644 Blue Jay St,, Umatilla.
10:44 p.m. - Pendleton police received an
emergency call reporting a domestic disturbance at
Mountain View Apartments, 2410 N.W. Carden Ave.

Eric Douglas Harder
died on Saturday, August
5, 2017, in Kennewick,
Wash. He was born on
May, 20, 1981, in Pend-
leton, Ore.
In his youth, Eric devel-
oped a deep connection
to the natural world. He
was at home in the great
outdoors and the forests
of the Pacific Northwest,
where he spent countless
hours fishing its waters.
He had an amazing sense
of what to use to catch a
fish no matter what the
conditions were or where
he was fishing.
He was a talented
musician and multi-in-
strumentalist, mastering
the drums and producing
electronic music across a
variety of genres. Profes-
sionally, Eric worked as an
electrician with Silverline
Electric in Kennewick. He
spoke of his coworkers as
both friends and mentors.
Throughout his life,
Eric talked openly about
the importance of spiri-
tuality and faith. He was
protective of his beliefs
and genuinely interested
in the beliefs of others. He
believed in giving thanks
to God by surrounding
others with compassion
and generosity. Eric Harder
knew life could be coarse
and difficult, he understood
complex emotions and he
sought to protect those
around him. He had a kind
and loving heart. Eric had
a loud laugh and a strong
hug. He sends his love and
gratitude to all of you.
He is survived by
his parents Carol Ferris
Jackson and Doug and
Helen Harder, and his
brothers Brian Harder and
Eric Reichow (Jessica).
He was preceded in
death by his grandparents
Chester and Irene Temple
Ferris, Robert Harder and
Louise Jourdan Mayes,
and Betty and Dale Spady.
Service will be held
at The Episcopal Church
of the Redeemer in
Pendleton, Oregon at 10
a.m. Saturday, August 12,
followed by refreshments
in Crysler Hall.
In honor of Eric, contri-
butions may be made to the
Cove Scholarship Fund at
The Episcopal Church of
the Redeemer.
Harold Patrick Quinn was
born on March 5, 1931, in
Burwell, Nebraska, to Patrick
Quinn and Mary Bennett.
He lived with his sister and
graduated from Hermiston
High School.
On July 24, 1954, he
married
Peggy
Ivester in Prosser,
Washington. She
later died on January
18, 1998.
He worked at
Pacific Northwest
Bell for 35 years. He
retired from there.
He was very
active throughout
his life. He loved
skiing,
dancing, Quinn
riding 4-wheelers,
fishing, hunting, leather-
working, woodworking, and
trap shooting. He was also
into reloading.
He belonged to The Elks,
Eagles, Ski Club, Pioneer
of the Pines, and Knights of
Pythias.
He was predeceased
by his parents Patrick
and Mary Quinn; siblings
Gaylord (Ruth) Quinn,
Ralph (Eva) Quinn and
Mary Jo Bruce (Owen).
He is survived by his son
Steven Quinn of Pendleton
and his daughter Roslyn and
spouse David Pedro of Pend-
leton; three grandchildren:
Ryan Pedro of Umatilla,
Samantha French of Pendleton
and Marissa Loiland
of Pendleton; five
great-grandchildren;
and several nieces
and nephews. He
is also survived
by his friend and
traveling partner of
seven years, Wanda
Wyrick.
There will be a
viewing on Friday,
August 11, 2017,
from 11:00 a.m. to
5:00 p.m. at Burns Mortuary
of Pendleton. The service will
be held Saturday, August 12,
2017, at 9:00 a.m. at Burns
Mortuary of Pendleton.

and his P51 Mustang “Hell-er-Bust” are featured during the
Wallowa County Fly-in Breakfast.
The event is Saturday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Joseph

educational displays and aircraft rides.
