Corley back behind the mic at Farm-City
T
here will be a familiar voice
booming out of the speakers
at the new arena for the 30th
Farm-City Pro Rodeo.
Randy Corley, the voice of the
Farm-City Pro Rodeo, returns for
2017. He has been the announc-
er every year but one year of the
Farm-City Pro Rodeo. It will be
Corley’s 29th year calling the ac-
tion in Hermiston.
Corley, a 2017 inductee in the
to Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame as an
announcer, has been a 12-time
PRCA Announcer of the Year and
a National Finals Rodeo announc-
er 16 times.
The scheduled featured en-
tertainer for this year’s rodeo
is Troy “Wild Child” Lerwill,
who is known for his motorcy-
cle stunts.

and was selected twice for the
Coors Man in the Can award. He
has also performed three times
at the Wrangler National Finals
Rodeo and was selected at the
WNFR barrelman three times.
But Lerwill was injured re-
cently in a motorcycle crash, suf-
fering a broken leg, and was un-
able to perform at the Silver State
Stampede in July in Elko, Neva-
da. Lerwill was also scheduled to
appear at Chief Joseph Days. As
of press time, Lerwill was still
scheduled to make his Hermiston
appearance.
There will be other bullfight-
ers/clowns on hand, looking to
thrill the crowd and avoid inju-
ry. There will be two appearanc-
es of the Bullfighters Only Tour
at 6:30 p.m. prior to the rodeo on
Aug. 9 and 10. Featured bullfight-
ers scheduled to appear include
Cody Greer, Kris Furr and Garrett
Wilkinson.
During the bullfighters event,
contestants have between 40 and
60 seconds to demonstrate their
skill, control, style and creativity
against bulls looking to put a hurt
on clowns in the arena.
