Kicking it off with country

he chart-climbing country
duo LoCash will break in
the new fairground’s main
stage.
The Aug. 8 performance will
kick off the fair’s evening enter-
tainment series. Other Wildhorse
Resort & Casino main stage per-
formers include Tracy Lawrence
(Aug. 9), The Marshall Tuck-
er Band (Aug. 10), La Mar-K
de Tierra Caliente (Aug. 11) and
Great White (Aug. 12).
“We try to provide a variety of
performers for our diverse coun-
ty,” explained fair board member
Lucas Wagner, who oversees the
fair’s entertainment selections.
With a population heavily invest-
ed in agriculture, that means coun-
try music always makes the list.
LoCash’s Chris Lucas and
Preston Burst boomed onto the
country music scene when their
2016 single “I Love This Life” hit
No. 2 on Billboard’s Country List.
The pair met at Nashville’s Wild-
horse Saloon, where they worked
as DJs, experimenting with hip-
hop, rock, gospel and everything
between. Their goal was to get
folks on the dance floor. It’s safe to
say they never chucked that aim.
LoCash’s brand of country is
bright and breezy, fully embrac-
ing the potential of contemporary
country’s pop savvy side. The two
will be performing tracks from
their new album, “The Fighters,”
which includes hits like “I Know
Somebody” and “Ring on Every
Finger.”
