12:04 a.m. - A woman in a medical facility on West Juniper
Avenue, Hermiston, reported she needed to be turned every
two hours and the nurses were not responding. Law enforce-
ment contacted the nurses and advised them of the situation.
8:19 a.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office opened
an investigation into how one of the county’s Loop Transport
buses was damaged while in the vehicle shed.
9:56 a.m.. - A Hermiston resident turned in gun powder he
no longer wanted.
10:31 a.m. - Hermiston police received information about
people living in a storage unit.
10:44 a.m. - A Umatilla resident asked to speak to an
officer about removing a family member from her home.
2:52 p.m. - Umatilla police took a report about a man with
a baby hiding near the office at Columbia Crest Apartments,
1500 Second St., Umatilla.
3:26 p.m. - A 9-1-1 caller in Pendleton reported a domestic
disturbance involving a female and children screaming, using
profanity and pounding on something.
6 p.m. - A caller complained to the Morrow County
Sheriff’s Office about people starting fires, leaving garbage
and even drug needles near Pleasant View Road north of
Highway 730.
6:11 p.m. - Pendleton police received a report of a
transient camp under the Southeast Eighth Street bridge.
9:31 p.m. - A caller reported several loud vehicles on Lee
Street grade, Pendleton, and there may have been juveniles
drinking. Law enforcement did not find any suspects.
9:47 p.m. - A 9-1-1 caller on Southeast Fourth Street,
Athena, reported the house was full of smoke but no flames
were visible.
ARRESTS, CITATIONS
•Hermiston police arrested David Ray Arnold, 34, of
Hermiston, on a parole violation and for possession of
methamphetamine and giving false information to law
enforcement.
•Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested Roel Guzman
Ramirez, 26, no address provided, for misuse of 9-1-1.
•Umatilla tribal police arrested Michael Joseph Halfmoon,
65, of Pendleton, for hindering prosecution, dangerous
drugs, criminal activity in drugs, contempt of court and on two
warrants for failure to appear.

Walla Walla General Hospital has had the distinct honor of serving this community for more than 100
years. Since 1899, our goal has been to provide every patient with excellent medical treatment and kind,
attentive care in the compassionate spirit of Jesus Christ. Thank you for partnering with us in helping
provide health and healing throughout Eastern Washington. It has been our humble honor to serve those
who have entrusted us with their care.
We respect the legacy of this hospital, its place in the heart of our community, and the investments
we have all made to sustain it for more than a century. Unfortunately, the current volatile healthcare
environment, legislative challenges, and consistent low inpatient census have created an unsustainable
future for Walla Walla General Hospital.
After tireless efforts to reverse the mounting financial challenges the hospital has faced over the last
decade, it is with great sadness that we will be closing Walla Walla General Hospital, Adventist Health
Home Care related services and our clinics on Monday, July 24.
Patients needing emergency care in Walla Walla after midnight on July 23 will have access to care at
Providence St. Mary Medical Center located at 401 W Poplar St, Walla Walla. Many of our physicians will
remain local and are in the process of informing patients of their future plans to provide care.
