HERMISTON — Parents are their
child’s fi rst and most important
teacher. Uma lla/Morrow
County Head Start in-
vites you to help
them grow. Learn-
ing Picnics is a free
series of Thursday
morning sessions
designed to give
children 0-6 and
their parent/caregiver
an opportunity to explore,
learn, and build important literacy
skills. The picnics are set for July 6,
through recrea onal play, arts and
cra s, animated movies, and dis-
cussion.
Wellness components include
free dental screenings and dental
learning lab for the children to
par cipate and learn about oral
hygiene. McNary Heights Elemen-
tary School (120 Columbia Ave.),
where the camp is held, also off ers
free breakfast, lunch, and dinner
to area youth during the summer.
The REACH day camp runs Mon. to
Thurs., July 10-27, from 9 a.m. to
4:30 p.m. A similar camp is planned
for Milton-Freewater in August.
