10:07 a.m. - A caller reported someone dumped yard debris
on the road to the Lexington Cemetery and he did not want that
to become a habit.
10:16 a.m. - A Hermiston woman reported the theft of funds
from her bank account.
10:28 a.m. The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office took a report
about someone outside Milton-Freewater spray painting a
pickup orange during the night.
12:13 p.m. - A 9-1-1 caller reported someone threatened him
under the overpass at Umatilla River Road and Interstate 82,
Umatilla, and he needed help.
12:48 p.m. - Hermiston police took a report from a person
who said they parked on East Ridgeway Avenue with their
children and a woman pounded on the vehicle’s windows
because she didn’t like where they parked.
4:53 p.m. - A caller reported a tan Chihuahua was staying
around Islas Auto Sales, 81564 N. Highway 395, Hermiston,
and was aggressive toward women.
SATURDAY
1:59 p.m. - Umatilla police received a report from Southridge
Apartments, 1330 Fifth St., Umatilla, about a kitten stuck under
the hood of a silver car.
3:39 p.m. - A coolant line split on one of the Morrow County
Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol boats. The sheriff’s office in a
written statement reported high winds stranded the vessel
on a sand bar near Crow Butte on the Columbia River. Four
members of the Boardman Rural Fire Protection District, an
off-duty Boardman police officer and a citizen recovered the
boat, which sustained minimal damage.
All members of the rescue team and the boats were back at
the Boardman marina around 9 p.m.
8:37 p.m. - A woman told the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office
a male she “has had an on-and-off-again relationship with, kind
of” stole her car at gunpoint. She said the suspect pulled a gun
on her and her friend at Maple Crest Apartments, 700 S.W.
Wilson Lane, Boardman, and forced them out of the car, then
took off in it. She said the vehicle is in her name, but he bought it
for her as a gift.
SUNDAY
1:04 a.m. - An Oregon State Police trooper tried to stop
a motorcyclist who was going 45 mph in a 35 mph zone on
Tutuilla Creek Road near Tahoe Avenue, Pendleton. The
trooper had lights and siren on and pursued the rider for about
a mile-and-a-half before ending the effort with the motorcycle
speeding up and heading south. The trooper informed Umatilla
tribal police to be on the lookout.
10:35 a.m. - Law enforcement in Morrow County responded
to the westbound side on Interstate 84 near Boardman for a
woman kicking the window of a black Chevrolet Cruz in an effort
to get out. Officers found she was having an anxiety attack due
to a dog defecating in the back seat.
5:48 p.m. - Noisy neighbors pushed a Boardman man to
threaten to take action into his own hands.
The caller told the Morrow County dispatch the neighbors at
Wilson Lane and Rippee Road, Boardman, were playing loud
music, and he would like a sheriff’s deputy to tell them to turn it
down.
He called back and said a deputy has not responded, and he
asked them to quiet down, and they refused. The dispatcher told
him the deputy was on a priority call and would handle the noise
complaint as soon as possible. The man yelled at the dispatcher
and said he would make it a priority by getting his gun.
The dispatcher let him know that was not an option he
should take.
Once the deputy arrived, the man apologized for making the
threats. The deputy asked the neighbors to turn it down, and
they said they would.
5:56 p.m. - Cattle went through a yard at the corner of Lind
and Jones Scott roads, Umatilla, prompting the property owner
to complain to law enforcement.
