Vicki Bowman, past president
of P.E.O. Chapter DR, said a love
of gardening has sprouted into an
annual garden tour that serves as a
fundraiser for the group.
“Audney Cosand started the
Garden Tour and inspired us with
her love of gardening and travels
around the world, often visiting
gardens and taking garden tours on
her many trips,” Bowman said.
In its 13th year, the Hermiston
Garden Tour features a handful
of gardens. After taking the tour,
participants are encouraged to stop
by Kopacz Nursery & Florist. The
Hermiston business is providing a
20 percent discount to all garden
tour ticket holders. In addition to
a variety of flowers and plants, the
store has a large selection of home
and garden items. Also, Heidi’s
Coffee Cottage is offering $1 off on
the beverage of your choice.
The event is Saturday, June 17
from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The tour
booklet includes descriptions of
the gardens, directions and a map.
Tickets can be purchased at Cottage
Flowers, Kopacz Nursery and from
P.E.O. members.
The gardens may be visited in
any order. Also, members of the
P.E.O. Chapter will greet partici-
pants at each of the locations.
“I’m always amazed at the
beauty we find behind a gardener’s
fence or home,” Bowman said.
The highlighted gardens include
an Oasis of Ease. With busy
lifestyles that have Randy and Pat
Moulton on the go, the couple has
created a low maintenance getaway.
The Family Farm of Creigh and
Pam Lincoln includes a Yellow
Rose of Texas, dating back to 1912.
Also featured are more than 60
hostas and 30 heuchera (coral bells)
scattered in shaded areas.
Scott and Melissa Purswell
