PUBLIC SAFETY LOG
4:19 a.m. - Hermiston police received an emergency report
of possible domestic violence involving a female crying all night
at a residence on West Sunland Avenue.
12:40 p.m. - A resident on Southwest Olson Avenue,
Pendleton, reported the theft of multiple items.
12:43 p.m. - A caller on Southwest Desert Oak Drive,
Hermiston, reported a large brown snake was in the yard by the
cement stairs outside the front door.
1:18 p.m. - Hermiston police took a report from a woman
who said someone opened a Gmail account under her name
and used her information to try to conduct fraudulent real estate
transactions from an office that doesn’t exist.
3:08 p.m. - A man staying at the Pillars Motel, 1816 S.E.
Court Ave., Pendleton, reported his neighbor stole a shopping
cart and is hiding it in his room.
4:31 p.m. - An Irrigon mother reported her son was acting
different after taking “something” from a friend. An ambulance
took the son to Good Shepherd Medical Center, Hermiston.
4:37 p.m. - Bullies ruined a Pendleton student’s fundraising
effort, the boy’s mother reported.
She told police her sons got on the bus to go to Washington
Elementary School and brought along fundraising items. Older
students bullied her 6-year-old boy and took his items.
SATURDAY
12:04 a.m. - A caller told Hermiston police he was walking
when a silver sedan drove by and someone inside threw a drink
cup, hitting him. The license plate was 101JJD, he said, and he
last saw the car on the 300 block of South First Street.
12:47 p.m. - Stanfield police took a complaint about
someone possibly poisoning dogs in the area of Heather Drive,
but the caller did not have any suspects.
6:44 p.m. - A caller at Calvary Chapel of Pendleton, 1909
S.W. Athens Ave., reported the theft of a utility trailer.
11:46 p.m. - Morrow County dispatch received a report of
a propane tank exploding in a trailer home on Magic Garden
Lane, Irrigon.
11:48 p.m. - A caller on Southwest 29th Street, Pendleton,
told police someone keyed his car and threw dip at it.
SUNDAY
2:41 a.m. - A caller told Hermiston police he was on the
phone with a friend when her boyfriend started yelling at her and
she yelled to call the police.
4:49 a.m. - A 9-1-1 caller on East Punkin Center Road,
Hermiston, said his roommate was beating his girlfriend.
6:33 a.m. - Emergency workers responded to a home on
Northeast Center Street, Heppner, for an infant with blood in the
mouth and not breathing. Am ambulance crew took the child to
Pioneer Medical Center, Heppner.
11:53 a.m. - Umatilla police responded to a home on
Chenowith Avenue for someone breaking in.
1:25 p.m. - An ambulance near Boardman rear-ended a
passenger car when its driver cut over in front of the emergency
vehicle.
Oregon State Police reported the ambulance was flashing
lights in the fast lane on Interstate 84 en route to Good
Shepherd Medical Center, Hermiston, with one patient, a parent
and three medical staff in the back. Near milepost 168, the driver
of a Honda Accord changes from the slow lane to the fast lane
right in front of the ambulance, state police reported, and the
ambulance could not avoid hitting the car.
4:30 p.m. - A man on West Sunland Avenue, Hermiston,
reported someone in the night broke into his apartment.
4:42 p.m. - Umatilla police took a report of a break-in and
theft at a house on Third Street.
6:47 p.m. - Three or four people fought at East Cherry
Avenue and Northeast McNary Street, Hermiston.
8:57 p.m. - Pendleton police received a report of a female
with a gun at McDonald’s, 900 Southgate.
ARRESTS, CITATIONS
Friday
•Oregon State Police arrested Tosha Nichole Revoir, 29,
of Hermiston, for driving under the influence of intoxicants
(marijuana).
Saturday
•Oregon State Police cited two Washington men — Jaren
Michael Kelly, 43, of Spokane, and John Everett Nelson, 48, of
Spokane Valley — for salmon fishing out of season. The trooper
also seized a chinook salmon and gave that to the Agape
House, a Hermiston charity.
•Oregon State Police cited Alfredo Cardenas, 68, no address
provided, for DUII after a crash on Highway 207 near milepost
14, Lexington.
•Pendleton police arrested Brennan George Shultz, 22, of
Pendleton, for possession of methamphetamine and second-de-
gree trespass.
During his arraignment Monday in Pendleton, Shultz reas-
sured the court he would abide by conditions of a jail release
agreement. Circuit Judge Jon Lieuallen asked Shultz what
would happen if the court found he did not follow the conditions.
His response: “Nothing good.”
•Pendleton police arrested Adria Stai, 42, of Pilot Rock, for
DUII, reckless driving and driving while suspended/revoked.
Circuit court records show she has a drunken driving case
pending since March 30 in Umatilla County, and the state is
trying to collect $1,440 in traffic fines and court fees from her
•Oregon State Police arrested Cody Ray Martin, 21, of
Irrigon, for DUII (alcohol).
Sunday
•Oregon State Police arrested Roman Christopher Holcomb,
24, of Pendleton, for DUII. State police reported his blood-al-
cohol level was .16 percent, twice the .08 percent legal limit.
•Stanfield police arrested Kristopher Shane Bishop, 38, of
Stanfield, for possession of a federally controlled Schedule 2
substance.

Mary Patricia Martinez, 75, of Pilot Rock died Wednesday,
May 10, 2017, in Portland. She was born March 25, 1942, in
Pueblo, Colo. Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of

was born on March 1, 1929,
on a farm near David City,
Nebraska, the sixth of eight
children, to parents John and
Anna Willemsen Frericks.
She died on May 10, 2017,
in Hermiston, Oregon, at the
age of 88 years.
Connie started
school at the age
of 5½ years in a
one-room school-
house on the ranch
where they lived.
The Frericks family
began moving to
Oregon in 1937 and
arrived in Baker
City, Oregon, on
New Year’s Eve Fisher
1938.
Connie
attended St. Francis
Academy from the fourth
grade through graduation in
1946. She was the first of her
family to graduate from high
school.
Connie
worked
for
Dr. John Higgins, then
the Crawford and Grant
Insurance Agency and then
the Chancery Office of St.
Francis Cathedral, while
also working at her sister
Elizabeth’s Richfield Service
Station and Store on 10th
Street in Baker City.
Connie married Roger
Wilbur “Bill” Fisher of
Haines, Oregon, on March
12, 1951. They lived on
various farms in Muddy
Creek until they sold out
the farming operation in
1966. Moving to Echo,
Oregon, in 1968, Bill went
to work for John, Smith and
Beamer in Athena, Oregon.
Connie worked a couple
of years at the Pendleton
Woolen Mills before taking
classes to become a medical
transcriptionist. She spent
the next 20 years doing
medical transcription work
for Good Shepherd Hospital
in Hermiston, St. Anthony
Hospital in Pendleton, and
medical clinics in Hermiston,

She is survived by her four
