ACTION: Notice of decision to acquire land into trust under 25
Code of Federal Regulations, Part 151.
SUMMARY: The Superintendent, Bureau of Indian Affairs, U.S.
Department of the Interior, on the below date, has made a
determination to acquire real property in trust for the
Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation. The
land referred to as former Kirk #6 Property, herein and is
described as:

A tract of land, roughly triangular in shape, and being the only
arable land lying in the Northeast corner of the Southwest
Quarter of the Northeast Quarter also known as Government
Lot 7 of Section 34, Township 3 North, Range 35, East of the
Willamette Meridian, Umatilla County, Oregon, being more
particularly described as beginning at the 2 1/2 inch brass cap
monument marking the Northeast corner of the Southwest
Quarter of the Northeast Quarter aka Government Lot 7 of said
Section 34 and running thence along the North line of said
Southwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter, South 89°39'28”
West, a distance of 659.23 feet; thence departing said North
line, South 18°08'26” West, a distance of 144.59 feet; thence
South 13°49'14” West, a distance of 196.93 feet; thence North
75°18'20” East, a distance of 121.74 feet; thence North
73°40'35” East, a distance of 121.52 feet; thence North

existing easements for public roads and highways, for public

of appeal. The statement of reasons and the envelope in which
it is mailed should be clearly labeled “Statement of Reasons.”
It must be accompanied by or otherwise incorporate all
supporting documents. You must send copies of you statement
of reasons to all interested parties and the Regional Director.
If no appeal is timely filed, this decision will become final for the
Department of the Interior at the expiration of the appeal period.
