Th e Western Select Invitational Horse Sale is the
premier auction of its kind in the Northwest, hosted
in the Pendleton Convention Center starting at
3 p.m. Whether you’re looking for a ranch horse,
roping horse, reined cowhorse, cutting horse or a
great riding horse, you’re sure to fi nd one that suits
you.
Th e auction will present about 30 gentle, sound and
well-trained geldings from all equine disciplines of
the best breeders in the Northwest. If you’re looking
for a horse to compete with in the team roping arena,
get you from one end of the ranch to the other or just
ride on the trail, there will be something for you.
Top sellers last year: “Cowboys Sandcat” brought to
Cattle Barons by Jake Stanley and “Chrome Plated
Nic” agented by Tom White both sold for $25,000.
In 2016, the average sale price per horse at this sale
was $6,750.

dogs and one puppy sell alongside the Western Select horses. Dogs
preview on live cattle Friday and Saturday mornings, and sell at the
horse sale Saturday aft ernoon.
