    Welcome to Pendleton
Cattle Barons Weekend
May 12 & 13, 2017 celebrates the 10 th anniversary of the
Pendleton Cattle Barons Weekend. Th e event was created
with the goal of “preserving our ranching heritage, one
scholarship at a time.” Cattle Barons strives to contribute
100% of its net income each year to scholarships for students
in Eastern Oregon who are attending college and majoring in
agriculture. In the past 10 years. Cattle Barons has awarded
over $50,000 in scholarships to about 50 students.
Over 100 volunteers, including our scholarship hopefuls, help
each year to put on the multiple events that all trace back
to the traditional ranching lifestyle, skills and arts with the
goal of passing them on to the next generation. Cattle Barons
is governed by a board of directors consisting of 12 elected
members and offi cers – again, all volunteers. Th e traditional Cattle Barons board of directors
