PUBLIC SAFETY LOG THURSDAY 1:22 a.m. - A caller reported someone stole items from his vehicle at the East Oregonian, 211 S.E. Byers Ave., Pendleton. 9:10 a.m. - A caller on Downey Road, Boardman, complained about his neighbor having too many animals for the size of his property. A Morrow County sheriff’s deputy responded and gave the parties information on animal density. 2:28 p.m. - Hermiston parents told police about an older male harassing their daughter. They said they had trouble in the past with him. 3:17 p.m. - Blueberry trees were on fire at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 78922 Olson Road, Boardman. 4:32 p.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a Jeep Cherokee speeding in Irrigon. The caller said the Jeep flew down Division Avenue and blew through the stop sign at Seventh Street. Deputies did not find the vehicle 4:42 p.m. - Another car speeding through Irrigon prompted a second report. The caller said this was a red or maroon Kia that may have headed west on Highway 730. Again, deputies did not find the speedster. 4:57 p.m. - Pendleton police received a report of five men staying in a yellow tent on the north side of the Umatilla River and south of Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution. 8:32 p.m. - Morrow County sheriff’s deputies responded again to Downey Road, Boardman, this time for a man and woman that were fighting. The sheriff’s office took a report. 8:51 p.m. - A 9-1-1 caller reported a child, about 8 or 9, had a flashlight and was “waving people over” on the eastbound side of Interstate 84 near Boardman. 9:49 p.m. - Four males knocked on a door on Columbia Boulevard, Umatilla, and ran off. Police did not find them. 9:52 p.m. - A caller reported a male wearing a ball cap and jacket walked down the middle of the road heading north on Highway 395, Stanfield. Police did not find him. 11:03 p.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call about a prowler knocking on a window on Alpine Drive, Hermiston. 11:11 p.m. - A Milton-Freewater woman on the 1300 block of South Mill Street reported the theft of her 2004 Ford Freestar. ARRESTS, CITATIONS •Hermiston police arrested Karina Chavez, 33, of 1035 N.E. Fourth St., Apt. 4, Hermiston, for first-degree forgery, second-degree theft, and identity theft. •Umatilla tribal police arrested Wallace Alan Wildbill, 31, of Pendleton, for dangerous drugs, criminal activity in drugs and trespass. •Milton-Freewater police arrested Ryan J. Saldana, 20, of Milton-Freewater, for driving under the influence of intoxicants. from a friend inside the house, who reported that Shawn Salamanca, 49, had cut herself and then ran out of her house. Officers responded and arrested Salamanca, who had several warrants.
