ARRESTS, CITATIONS
Friday
•Umatilla tribal police arrested Cameron Joseph Shawl,
39, of Pendleton, for criminal activity in drugs and dangerous
drugs.
•Sometimes police don’t have to work too hard to make a
case.
An Oregon State Police trooper at 5:23 p.m. responded to
a crash on the westbound side of Interstate 84 near milepost
204 where the driver of a Chevrolet HHR lost control and the
vehicle rolled three times in the median.
An ambulance took the driver, Stephanie A. Stout, 23, no
address provided, to St. Anthony Hospital, Pendleton. The
trooper found a powdery white substance on her identifi-
cation, according to state police, and it tested positive for
methamphetamine.
The trooper talked to Stout at the hospital, according to
state police, and she admitted to driving while high on meth.
She also provided a blood sample, and the trooper cited her
for DUII and possession of meth.
•A 19-year-old Boardman man ended up in jail for drunken
driving after almost striking an Oregon State Police trooper.
State police reported the trooper at 6:53 p.m. was dealing
with a driver he stopped on the eastbound side of Interstate
84 near milepost 184 when a red Audi A4 sedan drove over
the rumble strips on the freeway shoulder and nearly struck
the police car.
After catching up to the driver and getting him stopped,
according to state police, the trooper saw the driver was
drunk.
Carlos Enrique Medieta Ramirez failed a sobriety test
and provided a blood-alcohol level of .23 percent, just shy of
three times the legal limit of .08 percent. The trooper booked
Medieta Ramirez into the Umatilla County Jail, Pendleton, for
DUII and reckless driving.
•State police reported another trooper made an arrest for
intoxicated driving of a man who had beer and drugs.
The trooper stopped a vehicle at 11:42 p.m. for a traffic
violation on Johns Lane near Snyder Road, Pendleton. The
officer saw the driver, Cedric Stephan Hall, 20, of Adams, had
glassy, watery eyes and the smell of alcohol on his breath.
State police also reported Hall had an open bottle of beer
between his leg and the door.
Hall showed signs of impairment during a sobriety test,
according to state police, so the trooper arrested him for
DUII. State police also reported the officer searched Hall, and
in his front pocket found a bag containing a white powdery
substance that tested positive for cocaine.
Hall also later took a breath test that showed his blood-al-
cohol level was .14 percent.
The trooper booked Hall into the Umatilla County Jail for
DUII and possession of a controlled substance.
Saturday
•Oregon State Police arrested Harry Pete McCormack,
38, of Athena, for DUII. Police also cited him for driving while
suspended, failure to install an ignition interlock device,
which is a breathalyzer for a vehicle, and refusing to take an
intoxication level test. Umatilla County Circuit Court records
show he has a 2013 conviction for DUII.
•James Allen Griffith, 61, of Kennewick, tried to buy a gun
in Hermiston, but the mandatory background check revealed
he was wanted on a warrant for failure to appear. State police
arrested Griffith on the warrant and for unlawful purchase of a
firearm and booked him into the Umatilla County Jail.
•Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested Tony Lee
Colbray Sr., 54, of Hermiston, for possession of meth and
possession of heroin.
•Morrow County Sheriff’s Office arrested Marvin Lewis
Strickland, 37, of 78936 Shoemake Lane, Boardman, for two
counts of harassment and one of felony assaulting a public
safety officer.
Sunday
•Umatilla tribal police arrested Justin Matthew Yeager, 32,
no address provided, for DUII.
•Pendleton police arrested Derek Ryan Miller, 34, of
807 S.W. Eighth St., Pendleton, for second-degree assault,
menacing and driving while suspended/revoked.
•Umatilla police arrested Rodolfo Rosas Barreto, 36, no
address provided, for DUII (alcohol).
