prowler on the 300 block of Southwest 28th Drive.
10:10 a.m. - A Pendleton man at Ashley Manor Senior
Living, 1514 S.W. Athens Ave., reported he returned from a trip
and found his computer and additional equipment missing.
10:39 a.m. - A caller reported a male abusing a female at
Super 8 Motel, 601 S.E. Nye Ave., Pendleton.
12:18 p.m. - A Heppner man told the Morrow County
Sheriff’s Office he received a scam caller who stated he
was the man’s grandson and needed money. The would-be
scammer, though, did not sound like the man’s grandson and
did not have the grandson’s name.
9:18 p.m. - Morrow County Sheriff’s Office took a report
from a Boardman caller who said a woman he knows stole his
green Buick Riviera.
SATURDAY
11:13 a.m. - A landlord reported someone kicked in a
door at a rental property on West Highway 730, Irrigon,
and it appears the renter moved out and left nothing in the
residence.
2:31 p.m. - A Pendleton small business owner reported
someone copied his checks and cashed them in Vancouver,
Washington, and Las Vegas.
SUNDAY
12:23 a.m. - Pendleton emergency services responded to
Pendleton Square Apartments, 300 S.W. 28th Drive, for an
18-year-old with possible alcohol poisoning,
10:10 a.m. - A caller reported three male juveniles at
Northwest Eighth Street and Despain Avenue, Pendleton,
talked about stealing things, tried jumping up on a neighbor’s
retaining wall, and climbed on the tree branches before leaving
on foot toward Main Street. Police did not find the trio.
2:35 p.m. - Pendleton police received a 9-1-1 call about
a female hiding in bushes under the stairs near the blue
apartment complex on Southeast Isaac Avenue.

released “Once upon a
Chicken” in October 2016
and “Walter Gets A Puppy”
in February 2017. The
children’s books, which are
written and illustrated by
Hurty, are the first two in a
series called “Tales & Tails
of Hurtyville.” Both books
include questions at the end
to help generate discussions.

supports arts center
IRRIGON — A pancake
breakfast to benefit the
Irrigon Multicultural Arts
Center is planned this
weekend.
The meal will be
served up Saturday from
7:30-10:30 a.m. at Stokes
Landing Senior Center, 195
N.W. Opal Place, Irrigon.
The cost is $4.50 per
person. The money raised
will help the nonprofit group
in developing a regional
arts center and preserving
Irrigon’s 1921 school

•Umatilla tribal police arrested Kristen Marie Speedis, 35, of
Mission, for reckless driving, attempt to elude/flee, tampering
with physical evidence, resisting arrest, dangerous drugs and
criminal activity in drugs.
•Pilot Rock police arrested Evelyn Juanita Pollard, 54,
no address provided, for felony harassment, second-degree
disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
•Oregon State Police arrested Joseph Patrick Johnson,
33, no address provided, for driving under the influence of
intoxicants and reckless driving.
•Pendleton police arrested Sara Renee Powell, 25, of
Pendleton, for felony parole violation, second-degree disor-
derly conduct, interfering with a peace officer and resisting
arrest.

•A Morrow County sheriff’s deputy arrested Anthony J.
Tarnasky, 42, no address provided, for first-degree trespassing
after a 9-1-1 call at 10:41 p.m. from a home on Northeast
Thompson Avenue, Heppner. The caller reported his daughter
bolted up the stairs from the basement and screamed about a
man in the house. The deputy found the intoxicated Tarnasky
and took him to the Umatilla County Jail, Pendleton.

•Boardman police arrested Nicolas Lopez Juarez, 20, of
Boardman, for second-degree assault.
•Boardman police arrested Tyler Maurice Messersmith, 32,
of Boardman, for felony fourth-degree assault.

Davis, 25, no address provided, for possession of heroin and
methamphetamine.
