RECORDS Friday, February 3, 2017 Pendleton man seeks illegal driver that damaged pickup East Oregonian A Pendleton man is looking for the driver of the four-wheeler that damaged his pickup during the recent big freeze. Phil Garton in a written statement said sometime between 7:30 and 8 a.m. on Jan. 18, the morning after freezing rain coated Pend- leton and the surrounding areas, a four-wheeler hit his 2000 Dodge Ram pickup in front of his home at 3127 S.W. Jay Ave. in the Sherwood neighborhood. The impact dented the lower driver’s side doors and broke off the running board step. “Whoever you are, we know that you were wearing a black and red helmet and we have a description of your ATV,” said Garton, who noted that a witness saw the driver and gave a report to police. Aside from the hit and run, Pendleton Police Chief Stuart Roberts confirmed it is against the law to operate all-terrain vehicles in Pendleton. Garton invited the culprit to come forward and “take care of this problem before it esca- lates.” If police have to catch the driver, Garton warned that person will have to deal with hit and run and additional charges. Garton also asked anyone with information about this incident to call him at 541-377-1424. “I would very much appreciate your help in locating this individual,” he stated.
