FRIDAY
Gail Elaine Burkenbine
2:33 a.m. - Morrow County sheriff’s deputies responded to
Green Acres RV Park, 80542 Paterson Ferry Road, Irrigon,
to deal with a possible domestic violence case. Deputies
found no one was at the home and determined the report was
unfounded.
3:14 a.m. - A caller reported an assault at Lee Street
Grade and Campbell roads, Pendleton, and the assailants left
with his vehicle.
5:55 a.m. - A woman in Irrigon reported a male came to
her residence, yelled and punched her in the face, then ran
away. She also said the assailant threatened to hurt her and
her family.
9:32 p.m. - A caller on Southwest 11th Street, Hermiston,
reported a juvenile female screaming for about 10 minutes.
SATURDAY
2:26 a.m. - Pendleton police responded to the Rainbow
Cafe, 209 S. Main St., on a report of possible domestic
violence.
2:23 a.m. - A resident on East Main Street, Hermiston, told
law enforcement a prowler was in the back yard.
11:57 a.m. - Stanfield police received a report of a
mannequin or a person on the side of the road with a dog at
South Highway 395 and Rosalynn Drive.
1:31 p.m. - A caller reported a male with a handgun
entered Jiffy Lube, 345 N. First St., Hermiston.
2:46 p.m. - Someone stole a yellow skid-steer loader from
Wagon Wheel Place, Pendleton.
2:55 p.m. - An Irrigon man arrived home on Southwest
Second Street and found someone broke in and stole guns.
4 p.m. - A resident on West Ridgeway Avenue, Hermiston,
told police her ex-boyfriend stole her vehicle.
9:36 p.m. - A Pilot Rock resident reported someone
pretending to be a police officer was prank calling her.
10:31 p.m. - Pendleton police took a report from a caller
on Southeast Court Avenue who said someone let the air out
of the tires on his brother’s car.
SUNDAY
12:51 a.m. - Pendleton police warned teens at an apart-
ment on Northwest Carden Avenue after a caller complained
they group may have been fighting.
1:30 a.m. - Five or more people fought at the Rainbow
Cafe in downtown Pendleton.
4:19 p.m. - Security at the Hermiston Wal-Mart
Supercenter, 1350 N. First St., reported a male who stole a
TV on Saturday may be trying to steal another one.
6:23 p.m. - A caller asked to speak to a Hermiston officer
because her boyfriend has pictures of her and sent her
threatening texts.
7:22 p.m. - Hermiston police were on the lookout for a
large pot belly pig on Canal Road headed toward Baxter
Road.
8:06 p.m. - Milton-Freewater police responded to report of
burglary on the 300 block of Northwest Sixth Avenue.
ARRESTS, CITATIONS
Friday
•Hermiston police arrested Robyn Lynn Zook, 35, of
70925 Wilson Lane, Boardman, for possession of heroin and
on a warrant.
•Umatilla tribal police arrested Aaronessa Mariah Farrow,
33, of 46838 Thompson Road, Pendleton, for domestic
abuse, two counts of felony assault, and two counts of
endangering the welfare of a minor.
•Hermiston police arrested Kaycee Nicole Friend, 25, of
Hermiston, for possession of methamphetamine and on three
warrants.
•Hermiston police arrested Debbie Julissa Bravo, 21, of
2195 N. First St., Hermiston, for felony fourth-degree assault
constituting domestic violence and contempt of court.
•A traffic stop for a lighting violation led an Oregon State
Police trooper to cite Lyndsie L. Wickstrom, 19, Kennewick,
for a person 21 or younger possessing 8 ounces or more of
marijuana.
The trooper stopped an eastbound Kia Soul on Interstate
84 near milepost 202, contacted the Wickstrom, who was
driving, and smelled marijuana in the vehicle. State police
reported Wickstrom, allowed the trooper to search the car,
and he found 8.9 ounces of pot, 6.1 grams of marijuana
product and smoking tools.
Saturday
•Oregon State Police arrested Allen Leo Laib, 56, of
Pendleton, for driving under the influence of intoxicants.
•Milton-Freewater police arrested Thomas Wayne Boffing,
56, of Milton-Freewater, for possession of methamphetamine
and violating probation.
•Oregon State Police at 1:18 p.m. stopped a Chrysler
3000 for speeding westbound on Interstate 84 near milepost
210. The stop led to the arrest of the driver, James Bernard
Gray Jr., 41, of Portland, for driving while suspended or
revoked due to the fact he is a habitual offender. Circuit court
records show he has faced more than 20 prosecutions for
driving-related violations and crimes, from not obeying traffic
control devices to parking too long at a meter to DUII.
•Umatilla tribal police arrested Alisha Marie Thompson, 24,
of Pendleton, for dangerous drugs, theft, and criminal activity
in drugs.
•Oregon State Police arrested Adria Stai, 42, of 373 N.E.
Fourth St., Pilot Rock, for DUII and reckless driving. Police
also cited her for refusal to take a test for intoxicants and
failure to use an appropriate signal.
•Milton-Freewater police arrested Sharon Renea
Dingman, 35, of 636 S. Columbia St., Milton-Freewater, for
DUII.
Sunday
•Hermiston police arrested April Mae Bautista, 39, of
Hermiston. for possession of methamphetamine and DUII.
•Pendleton police arrested Peggy La Dawn Turk, 32, of
56329 Bingham Road, Pendleton, for first-degree robbery,
second-degree theft, menacing and attempt to commit a
crime.
•Hermiston police arrested Martin Ornelas, 29, 1800 10th
St. Apt. 58, Hermiston, for possession of methamphetamine
and on multiple warrants.

•Hermiston police arrested Hector Alejandro Ortiz-Guizar,
28 of 1260 W. Ridgeway Apt. B, Hermiston, for possession of
methamphetamine.

Gail Elaine Burken-
bine, 77, passed away
peacefully at her home in
Walla Walla on January 26,
2017, surrounded by her
two loving daughters and
beloved son-in- law.
She was born May
19, 1939, in Hillsboro,
Oregon, to Bosko Bugarsky
and Dorothy (Matteson)
Bugarsky. She soon moved
to Pendleton where she lived
until she graduated from
Pendleton High School.
She married Reese Forrest
(“Forrie”) Burkenbine on
June 16, 1957, in Heppner,
Oregon, where they lived
until 2013, when they relo-
cated to Walla Walla. They
owned Central Market in
Heppner from 1975 until
their retirement in 1999.
Gail and Forrie loved
going to Ajo, Arizona,
for the winters and spent
summers in Heppner. Gail
was a member of the Ajo
Quilt Guild as well as the
Walla Walla Quilt Guild. She
was active in the Lions Club
in Ajo and Heppner, as well
as other community-service
based organizations over
the years. She also enjoyed
volunteering for the Food
Pantry and at the Walla
Walla Senior Center.
She is survived by daugh-
ters Lisa (Paul) Leonard of
Walla Walla and Connie
LaFarge of Salem, Oregon,
and granddaughters Jennifer
Hammons, Monica Madsen,
Stephanie
Burkenbine,
Samantha
Burkenbine,
Amy McRoberts Rupnow,
Amanda Heimbigner, Sara
Pinkerton and Allyson Wise,
as well as eight great-grand-
children. Her sweetheart
Forrie predeceased her in
2014, and her son Allen in
2015.
A memorial service
will be held on Saturday,
February 4, 2017, at 1:00
p.m. at All Saints Episcopal
Church in Heppner.
Memorial contributions

Heppner Fire Department.
