RECORDS Thursday, January 26, 2017 PUBLIC SAFETY LOG OBITUARIES TUESDAY Jessie ‘Naomi’ Larkin 11:22 a.m. - Suspicious texts prompted a Hermiston man to ask for an officer. He said the texts came from a “spoof number” with messages such as “they are on her street” and “she does not want to see daughter again.” Police tried but were not able to talk to the caller. 11:46 a.m. - Milton- Freewater police received a report of theft of electrical wiring from the Milton Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1244 N. Elizabeth St. The crime happened within the last three to four weeks. 2:51 p.m. - A caller on Southwest Court Avenue told Pendleton police a female showed up at the residence and caused a disturbance. 4:10 p.m. - Staff at the Pendleton Motel, 620 S.W. Tutuilla Creek Road, Pendleton, asked police to remove a man who was at the premises since the morning. 5:39 p.m. - A man told Pendleton police a woman showed up to his home on South Main Street and threatened him. 5:44 p.m. - A Pendleton woman reported she was scared her boyfriend has been talking bad about her. 7:33 p.m. - One of the volunteers at the Hermiston Warming Station, 1075 S. Highway 395, asked for police. He said the man he trespassed through Thursday night was back. 11:51 p.m. - A Umatilla resident told police concerns about harassment from an ex’s father. 10:16 p.m. - An Athena resident reported a male with a flashlight rode a bicycle all over the small town and looked in vehicles and yards. 10:46 p.m. - A son told Umatilla police his father has signs of dementia and was missing. Hermiston February 3, 1940-January 20, 2017 Jessie “Naomi” Larkin of Hermiston, Oregon, was born on February 3, 1940, in Baker, Oregon, to parents Haskel “Hack” and M. Ellen Tibbs Bloom. She died on January 20, 2017, in Portland, Oregon, at the age of 76 years. Naomi was raised for the better part of her childhood in Stanfield, Oregon, graduating from Stanfield High School in the class of 1958. Naomi was united in marriage to Harold L. Larkin on May 2, 1965, in Hermiston, Oregon. She worked at the Umatilla Larkin Hospital and later at Good Shepherd Community Hospital for 25 years. Naomi then worked in the medical office of Dr. Maguire and Dr. Brueske in Hermiston for 10 years before she retired to focus on being a full-time grandma. She was an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Naomi loved to bake and enjoyed sharing her treats with her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, crocheting, sewing, and taking pictures. Naomi cher- ished the time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Harold Larkin, Hermiston, Ore.; son John Larkin and wife ARRESTS, CITATIONS •Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kendra Jo Robinson, 22, of 53356 Ballou Road, Milton-Freewater, for fourth-degree assault. •Milton-Freewater police arrested Donald Allen Cowden, 37, of 169 S.E. Sixth Ave., Milton-Freewater, for second-degree assault related to domestic violence and first-degree burglary. •Umatilla police arrested Kaelynn Hollingsworth, 34, of 28716 Highway 730, Unit 114, Umatilla, for possession of a stolen vehicle. •Pilot Rock Police Chief Bill Caldera responded at about 3:10 p.m. to 253 W. Main St. for an illegal burn. The chief arrested Richard Ray Moffett, 54, who lived there, on multiple warrants for failure to appear. She was born June 27, 1964, to Col. Donn Smith, USAF, and Joyce McKee in Tucson, Arizona. She resided in Pendleton, Oregon, for the past 7 years. H o l l y was an Air Force brat who traveled throughout her life with her father and two brothers (Joel and Donn) on various U.S. postings. She attended American High school Wells in Berlin, Germany. From there, she entered the Air Force and trained in Texas and became a med tech. She married an Air Force mechanic and had three daughters, Sarah, Jamie and Morgan. Holly adored them with all her heart. They resided in Warner Robins, Georgia. In the year 2009, Holly moved to Pendleton and adopted an adorable minia- ture Dachshund named Daisy. They were inseparable. After which she found a relation- ship with Kristian Higgin- bottom. She remained in this loving relationship with him to this day. Together, they explored the world around them and found comfort in each other. Holly was known by everyone as a sweet, caring, sincere and honest person. She cared about everyone a b o v e herself. Holly enjoyed shopping, going on mountain d r i v e s , and quiet evenings at home. Holly loved arts and crafts. She was a lifelong member of the Humane Society. Holly was also a true member of Daughters of the American Revolution. It is a true loss to our world to not have her here with us.
