9:04 a.m. - Fire and other emergency service agencies
responded to a house fire at 450 N.E. Sixth St., Irrigon.
2:59 p.m. - A car drove over the curb at Southwest 23rd Street
and Ladow Avenue, Pendleton, and got stuck in a yard.
5:05 p.m. - A resident at Indian Hills Village Apartments,
1335 S.W. Second St., Pendleton, reported a neighbor stole her
packages off her doorstep.
SATURDAY
9:22 a.m. - A Pendleton caller on Southeast 10th Street told
police someone broke into her house and was still inside.
12:27 p.m. - A man told Pendleton police a man assaulted his
ex-wife.
2 p.m. - Drivers in Irrigon on Southeast Fourth Street and East
Highway 730 had to deal with a dog chasing their vehicles and
trying to bite tires.
2:53 p.m. - A semi-trailer without chains on the tires jack-knifed
and became stuck in the road on Southwest Marshall Avenue,
Pendleton.
8:06 p.m. - Law enforcement in Morrow County received
a request to check on a female in the Boardman area whose
boyfriend may have tried to choke her.
SUNDAY
10:57 a.m. - Someone stole another fire extinguisher from the
300 block of North Elizabeth Street, Milton-Freewater.
11:29 a.m. - An ambulance took one male to Good Shepherd
Medical Center, Hermiston, after a vehicle rolled on Highway 730
near Interstate 84, Boardman.
12:13 p.m. - Gas thief struck again. A landlord told Pendleton
police his tenant on Southeast Sixth Street, Pendleton, reported
someone siphoned 30 gallons of gas from his old Chevrolet van,
and this was the second time.
5:34 p.m. - A caller reported a possible Craigslist rental scam.
She said she sent $600 in a money transfer to “Scott” in Houston,
Texas, to rent a home at 805 E. Main St., Hermiston, and she was
to receive the keys via FedEx, but the keys did not come.
The ad remains on the website, and county records indicate a
local owner.
10:14 p.m. - Pendleton police responded to a report of a male
slapping a female.
MONDAY
12:06 a.m. - A Pendleton man on Southwest Sixth Street
asked police to check on animal prints in his yard.
5:34 a.m. - A 9-1-1 caller on South Main Street, Pendleton,
was trying to collect property from her vehicle and another female
slammed the door on the caller’s foot.
ARRESTS, CITATIONS
The online roster for the Umatilla County Jail showed local
law enforcement was busy through the wintry weekend, adding
at least 32 inmates to the jail Friday through early Monday. Most
of the book-ins came from arrests of people violating parole or
probation, and one was after a sentencing in Umatilla County
Circuit Court. The flurry of jail additions amounted to more than 15
percent of the jail’s total inmate population of 209 as of Monday
morning.

•Pendleton police arrested Kristofer Lee Webber, 27, of
Pendleton, for possession of cocaine and violating parole.
Saturday
•Pendleton police arrested Timothy Allen Okaly, 39, of
Pendleton, for violating post-prison supervision and for posses-
sion of hydrocodone and supplying contraband, all felonies.
•Pendleton police arrested Robert Gene Morley, 48, of
Pendleton, on two warrants and for unauthorized use of
vehicle, driving while suspended/revoked, and possession of
methamphetamine.
•Umatilla tribal police arrested Chance Andrew Habig, 41,
of Pendleton, for assault, fourth-degree assault, two counts of
attempted unlawful use of a weapon, two counts of pointing a
firearm at another, and obstructing governmental administration.
Sunday
•Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested Shane Lance
Purcell, 31, of Athena, for possession of methamphetamine,
possession of a federal Schedule IV substance, and reckless
driving.
•Pendleton police arrested Mary Leanne Nylund, 46, of
Pendleton, for felony fourth-degree assault.
•Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested Julio Ulises Cornejo,
20, of Hermiston, for unauthorized use of vehicle, unauthorized
entry into a motor vehicle, first-degree criminal mischief,
second-degree trespass, driving under the influence of intoxicants
(alcohol), reckless driving, hit and run (property), and driving while
suspended/revoked.
•Milton-Freewater police arrested Tara Noel Whitmore, 28, of
Milton-Freewater, for possession of a stolen vehicle, unauthorized
entry into a motor vehicle and unauthorized use of vehicle.
•Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested Scott Craig Garton,
62, of Pendleton, for DUII.

earned the Combat Medical
Badge. He was in Normandy,
Northern France, and Rhine-
land.
He worked for

medical textbooks.
