7:36 p.m. - Law enforcement and other emergency services
responded to a report of a car striking a woman.
Oregon State Police reported an Oldsmobile Intrigue was going
north in the right lane of Highway 395 and coming to the red light at
the intersection of East Punkin Center Road, Hermiston, where a
pickup waited in the highway’s left lane at the light. As the Oldsmobile
drew closer the light turned green, so the driver kept going.
The pickup, though remained stopped because a pedestrian
began to cross the highway on the red light. Brandi C. Weems, 43, of
Hermiston, ran in front of the Oldsmobile and was struck.
An ambulance took Weems to the hospital, according to state
police, where she refused treatment and was picked up by a friend.
