A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 19, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Pend- leton, Oregon. Burns Mortuary of Pendleton handled arrangements. He was born June 20, 1923, in Hays, Kansas, to Charley and Gertrude (Brown) Bunker. He was raised in Hays, Kansas; Benton City, Washington; and Nampa, Idaho, where he graduated from high school in 1941. He joined the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1942. He served his country in WWII and was honorably discharged from the Air Corps in November of 1945. He then learned the floor covering trade in Caldwell and Boise, Idaho, and moved to Pendleton, Oregon, in 1950. He was owner of Pend- leton Floor Covering. He married Margaret Johnson in 1944. The couple had three children and later divorced in 1974. In 1975 he married Dorothy Roberts, who later preceded him in death in 1993. In 1994 he married Yvonne Hastings Conner, who passed away October 27, 2016. Chuck’s hobbies included golfing, fishing and dancing. He was a member of the Pendleton Eagles Lodge and the Pendleton Elks Lodge, both of which he was past president, and the International Broth- erhood of Painters and Allied Trades. He is survived by his stepdaugh- ters Maryetta Baker of Pendleton, Ore., and Carrie Oglesbee of Pendleton, Ore.; grandchildren Brigette Brandhagen and husband Mike of Pendleton, Ore., Spencer McCloud and wife Margarita of Portland, Ore., Erin Chapel and husband Justin of Reno, Nev., Doug Obrist, Alan Obrist and David Obrist; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchil- dren. He was preceded in death by his wives Margaret Johnson, Dorothy Roberts and Yvonne Hastings Conner; his son Steve Bunker, and daughters Lynn Obrist and Terry Handlos; grandson Klint Bunker; his parents, and five sisters. Maxine was born November 23, 1923, to John and Ruby Blick in Ferndale, Wash. She graduated from Custer High School May 1942. Maxine went to work in the shipyards at Everett, Washington, as a welder. She then joined the U.S. Navy, first assigned Meyers to the Bronx, N.Y., then transferring to Memphis, Tennessee. Maxine was honorably discharged April 1949. After the Navy, Maxine traveled by train to begin college at Washington State University. Maxine met and married Marshall Meyers while in college there. Marshall and Maxine settled in Echo, Oregon, where they raised their family. Maxine was a great cook and baker. The cookie jar was never empty. She loved to garden and her yard was always filled with beautiful flowers. Maxine was active in Eastern Star, Garden Club and the Methodist Church. Maxine loved to play every card game you can imagine with her family and friends. Maxine is predeceased by her husband Marsh and granddaughter Ashleigh. She is survived by her four chil- dren: Lynn, Ron (Johanna), Gary, and Karen (Robert) Holman; grand- children Shane (Melanie) Roberts, Casey (Lacee) Holman, Cameron Meyers, Alexander Meyers, Ruby Meyers and Joseph Meyers; and great-grand- children Danica Jo Holman, Eli Holman and Rhea Jean Holman.
