after a sudden illness. She
was born May 12,
1950, in Pendleton,
Ore., to Rand Ralph
and Mary Evelyn
(McClendon)
Greene.
Pam graduated
Pilot Rock High
School in 1968 with
high honors. She
attended
Eastern
Oregon College and
BYU, and obtained Greene
her master’s degree
in speech pathology from the
University of Oregon.
Pam had a successful
career in Washington, D.C.,
where she worked on Capitol
Hill. She later moved to Salt
Lake City, Utah, where she
worked as a speech pathol-
ogist for the Davis School
District until she retired in
2015.
She was a lifelong member
of the LDS church and served
faithfully in many callings,
particularly in music. She
enjoyed sewing 4-H, both
county and state fairs, water
skiing, backpacking,
singing
and
conducting choirs,
spending time with
family and friends,
and working in the
church.
She is survived
by brothers Glenn
(Loraine) Greene,
Pilot Rock, Ore.,
and Craig Greene,
Hermiston, Ore.;
nephews
Tyler
Greene and Austin Greene;
nieces Danae Deal and
Rachael Haring; grand-
nephews Matthew, Drew,
Isaac and Bryce; and grand-
nieces Rileigh, Hailey and
Emily.
A Celebration of Life will

Chester Alonso “Chet”
Doss was born December 26,
1933, in La Grande, Oregon.
His parents were Chester
and Stella Doss. He died on
October 9, 2016,
in a care facility in
Hermiston, Oregon.
He was a resident
of Pilot Rock,
Oregon, since 2000.
Chester
enjoyed
cooking, skydiving,
camping, boating,
ishing and hunting.
Chet served as a
private in the Army
during the Korean
War in the 82nd
Airborne from 1950-
1953. He worked
32 years for GM in
shipping/receiving. Doss
Chet
married
his irst wife Darlene Pierce
Callopy of Portland, Oregon,
in 1956. He was a stepfather
to her children Kathleen
Kraemer of Boring, Oregon,
and Cliff Callopy of Portland,
Oregon. He was preceded
in death by Dennis Callopy
(1954-1968) and David
Callopy (1955-1968).
Chet married Margery
Johnson on December 31,
1964.
Chet is survived by his
wife Margery Doss of Pilot
Rock, Ore.; stepdaughter
Shirley and Rick Collins of
Kingman, Ariz.; stepdaughter
Sandy Jackson of Tigard,
Ore.; stepdaughter Susan and
Bob Huston of Seaside, Ore.;

Ore.; stepson Dave and
Rachel Franke of Pilot Rock,
Ore.; daughter Stephanie Doss
of Pilot Rock, Ore.; grand-

one great-grandson,

2012).

October 22, 2016, at 11:00
a.m. at Skyview Memorial
Park (between Pendleton

Joan P. Greene, longtime
Hermiston resident, was
born on August 31, 1926,
in Weiser, Idaho, to parents
Frank and Elaine Johnson
Townley. She died on
October 15, 2016, in Herm-
iston, Oregon, at the age of
90 years.
She was raised
and
attended
schools in Weiser,
Idaho. Joan was
united in marriage
to Virgil L. Greene
on
December
27,
1950,
in
Winnemucca,
Nev. They lived
in Weiser, Idaho,
before
moving
to
Hermiston, Greene
Oregon, in 1954
where she has lived
since.
Joan worked at the
Umatilla Army Depot for
a time and then for many
years as the bookkeeper for
LA Moore Furniture. She
enjoyed camping, hunting,
ishing, rock collecting, her
lower garden, and picking
huckleberries in the moun-
tains. She was a former
member of the Hermiston
Eagles Lodge.
She is survived by her
sons Jeff Greene and wife
Carol, Hermiston, Ore., and
Gary Greene and wife Sandi,
Palm Desert, Calif.

Monacelli, age 81, of Palm Desert, Calif., in 2007. One
