The town of Pilot Rock is gearing
up to celebrate during Pilot Rock

The event kicks off with a class
reunion and community dinner

or chicken dinner is $10 for veterans
and active military personnel, $15

for school activities, community
projects and scholarships to gradu-
ating seniors from Pilot Rock. For

Rock, OR 97868.
Those attending the dinner event
are invited to wander the halls to
view alumni pictures and reminisce
about days gone by. In addition,
some good stories are sure to be
shared.
A full day of activities is planned
Saturday, Aug. 20 beginning at 7:30
a.m. with the Jan Bensel Memorial
Race (10K and 5K). Also, commu-
nity yard sales and vendors will
open at 8 a.m. An information and
guest registration booth opens at 10
a.m. People can sign up for tours of
the school.
Main Street will feature a cooling
station from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. In
addition, a children’s carnival will
be set up at the city park.
Fun continues in the afternoon
with an all-breed dog costume
contest at 1 p.m. at Veteran’s Park on
Main Street. People are encouraged
to dress up their best friend and
compete for best of show, most orig-
inal and look alike (with master). A
wiener dog race follows at 1:30 p.m.
There’s still time to shine up your
vehicle for the car show, which runs
from 2-4 p.m. Those entering will
