12:02 a.m. - A resident of Vista Mobile Home Park, 1800 N.E.
10th St., Hermiston, reported a prowler outside her home. She said
this happened for three nights in a row. Law enforcement did not
ind a suspect.
12:47 a.m. - The owner of a pickup told Pendleton police he
was at Cadillac Jack’s Saloon & Grill, 1703 S.W. Emigrant Ave.,
Pendleton, and a man he knows was “angry and being obnoxious”
and “banged his head” into the vehicle.
4:22 p.m. - Four or ive loud partygoers kept a mother and her
children awake on Joy Lane, Hermiston.
6:56 a.m. - An Irrigon caller reported his brother assaulted their
mother and may have broken her nose.
10:46 a.m. - Someone stole a Hodaka 125 Wombat motorcycle
from Athena, which had its annual Hodaka Days festival this
weekend.
11 a.m. - Pendleton police received an emergency call from
a woman at Pillars Motel, 1816 S.E. Court Ave., who said a man
would not let her leave.
3:06 p.m. - A Pendleton man told police another man sent
people over to the residence to harass his girlfriend in violation of
a no-contact order.
3:25 p.m. - A man on Ringer Road, Milton-Freewater, reported
someone last week stole a chainsaw, drill, .50-caliber rile and
.45-caliber pistol from his shop and bunk house.
5:19 p.m. - A Pilot Rock man told police a cleaning person stole
his wife’s class ring, other jewelry and old coins.
5:53 p.m. - A Weston woman reported a thief broke into her
home on Degraw Road and stole a handgun and snowmobiling
gear.
6:38 p.m. - Umatilla police received a report that a man violated
a no-contact order and threw rocks at a woman and hit her in the
face. She declined medical help.
8:58 p.m. - The owner of Velasco Used Cars, 80596 Highway
395, Hermiston, reported a man stole a 2013 Ford Escape. She
said on May 26 he took it for a test drive and never brought it back.
The man stopped communicating, she said, and she found he
used a fake name and the government deported him. She asked
to speak to a Umatilla County sheriff’s deputy about the situation.
11:24 p.m. - Pendleton police received an emergency call about
a man and woman ighting at Blue Mountain Village Apartments,
2700 S.W. Goodwin Ave., Pendleton.
11:52 p.m. - A Pendleton man on Southwest Fifth Street
reported someone broke in and stole his a BB gun, a pistol and a
safe containing cash and vehicle titles.

June 24, 2016, in Heppner. She was born June 16, 1937,

8:49 p.m. - An Athena man reported his caregiver attacked him.
9:08 p.m. - A Boardman man undergoing treatment for cancer
required an ambulance ride to a hospital after he was unable to
walk.
10:16 a.m. - Someone left feces on a blanket and a building on
the 300 block of Southwest Dorion Avenue, Pendleton.
5 p.m. - A man on Riker Lane, Hermiston, reported his niece
assaulted him.
8 p.m. - A man was hit on the head with a softball near Westgate,
Pendleton.
8:01 p.m. - A woman told Pendleton police she saw a male
wearing the bracelet her daughter made her years ago.
11:47 p.m. - She took the money and ran.
A woman reported she had a $100 bill in her hand at Space
Age Fuel, 77522 Highway 207, Hermiston, when a girl grabbed
the money and took off running, got into a gold Nissan and headed
into Hermiston. She reported the name of the suspect and said the
crime happened about 20-30 minutes ago, but she did not have a
phone with her and went back home to Boardman to report it.
Longtime Pendleton resident Rose Carey, 78, died
Saturday, June 25, 2016, in Walla Walla. She was born Aug.

12:24 a.m. - Egg throwers in a vehicle missed a caller’s car on
West Division Avenue, Hermiston.
3:13 a.m. - A man and woman argued on the 100 block of Main
Street, Pendleton, and he pushed her to the ground. A child was
with them.
3:31 a.m. - A Pendleton man told police a couple shot him with
a stun gun “about three times” in front of his house on Northwest
Third Drive then took off. He declined medical help but asked to
speak to an oficer.
4:26 a.m. - A Umatilla man told police he was hiding outside
Columbia Crest Apartments on Third Street after he was “jumped”
in an assault.
7:37 a.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Ofice received a
report of a transient man with three aggressive pit bull dogs near the
“Social Security” pond at McNary Dam on Devore Road, Umatilla.
7:45 a.m. - Two children, ages 10-12, threw rocks at cars and
property on Columbia Lane, Irrigon
12:39 p.m. - A Hermiston grandmother reported her daughter
came home, started a ight, shoved her and caused a door to hit a
child in the face.
1:55 p.m. - A Boardman man reported the theft of his radial arm
saw from his shed on Sky View Drive.
3:48 p.m. - A woman told Pendleton police she was at O’Reilly
Auto Parts, Pendleton, when a white man with red hair, a beard and
“green raggy clothes” told her he wanted a bottle with a cap so he
could “throw a bomb off the train.”
6:30 p.m. - A Pendleton man living on Northwest Carden
Avenue reported the theft of his Social Security card, skateboard
and a tomahawk.
7:08 p.m. - An Irrigon mother reported a woman pulled a knife
on her son, then left the house on Southwest Wyoming Street.
9:43 p.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Ofice received a call
about a domestic disturbance in progress at Southeast 11th Street
and Idaho Avenue, with people yelling “I”m going to kill you” and
“stab me.”
9:52 p.m. - One woman attacked another and her male friend
on West Orchard Avenue, Hermiston.
10:48 p.m. - An Irrigon man on Wagon Wheel Loop reported
his neighbors were shooting guns, but it seemed a little late for that
activity.

SCHOLARSHIPS
Hospital auxiliary awards scholarships
The Good Shepherd Medical Center Auxiliary recently
awarded ive $1,500 scholarships.
The scholarship program provides money for Good Shep-
herd employees wanting to further their medical education
and community members interested in pursuing a career in
the medical ield.
The recipients included Tina Goff of Stanield, who
is pursuing a masters degree in nursing leadership and
management; Taran Goodwin of Hermiston, who is studying
medical laboratory science; Amber Henderson of Herm-
iston, who is seeking a nursing degree; Marie Hughes of
Hermiston, who is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing;
and Colleen Shaw of Stanield, who is studying radiology.

Lacey receives Gonzaga degree
SPOKANE — Nicholas Lacey of Pendleton graduated
from Gonzaga University during spring commencement
exercises May 8, 2016.
Gonzaga University is a private Catholic, Jesuit, and
humanistic university providing education to more than 7,800
students. Situated along the Spokane River near downtown
Spokane, Washington, Gonzaga is routinely recognized
among the West’s best comprehensive regional universities.
