THORNE, RICHARD SR. — Graveside service at 2
p.m. at Olney Cemetery, Pendleton.
6:53 a.m. - A Pendleton parks and recreation employee at
the men’s restroom at Community Park on Southwest 37th
Street, Pendleton, found a metal pipe with a note attached, in
what looked like blood, that mentions guns.
9:35 a.m. - A father asked to speak to a Pendleton oficer
for options on getting his daughter a state identiication card
because the Oregon Driver and Motor Vehicle Services Division
will not accept credit cards.
12:20 p.m. - A Pendleton man on Southeast Eighth Street
reported his ex-girlfriend broke into his house and stole an
ounce of marijuana.
2:43 p.m. - And another Pendleton man on Northwest 11th
Street reported the theft of his medical marijuana plant from the
side of his house.
TUESDAY
10:33 a.m. - A caller reported the theft of 240 Hydrocodone
pills from her home on Northeast Riverside Avenue, Pendleton.
11:05 a.m. - A Hermiston man told the Morrow County
Sheriff’s Ofice someone stole his kayak and was trying to sell it
at the Irrigon Shell station.
11:33 a.m. - An Irrigon woman reported her boyfriend was
harassing and stalking her.
12:06 p.m. - Umatilla police received a call about possible
domestic violence on Walla Walla Street.
12:07 p.m. - A stepdaughter came to get her belongings from
a home on Northwest 10th Street, Pendleton, and the male she
brought with her swore and disrespected the stepmother.
1:15 p.m. - A caller reported someone broke all the lights on
a white Honda Accord at the Pendleton Wal-Mart parking lot.
3:14 p.m. - Umatilla police received a report that a woman
suffering a delusion tried to drown the bird she owns because
she thought the pet was on ire.
5:38 p.m. - A Pendleton resident on Northwest 15 Street
asked police to stop her neighbors from harassing her. She said
they are missing a kitten and believe she has it.
7:28 p.m. - Someone stole $800 from the wallet of a stock
contractor at the Buckaroo Rodeo Bible Camp at the Pendleton
Round-Up Grounds.
7:55 p.m. - Law enforcement received information that
transients are living in trees behind Midway Apartments on Joy
Lane and Highway 395, Hermiston, and could be involved in
drug activity.
8 p.m. - The owner of the Pendleton bar 40 Taps, 337
S.W. Emigrant Ave., told police a scammer keeps calling and
threatening to shut off power unless the business pays hundreds
of dollars.
11:35 p.m. - A Pendleton man told police someone covered
his house on Southwest Ladow Avenue in toilet paper.
ARRESTS, CITATIONS
•Hermiston police arrested Orlando Garcilazo Madrigal, 30,
no address provided, for unlawful use of a weapon, menacing
and reckless driving.
•Boardman police arrested Cirillo Ramos-Contreras, 34, of
Boardman, for driving under the inluence of intoxicants and
felony hit and run with injury after he led from a head-on crash.
The collision happened around 9:45 p.m. on the 200 block
of Main Street. Boardman Police Chief Rick Stokoe said an
oficer stopped Ramos-Contreras when he drove by dragging
a front bumper. The oficer talked with Ramos-Contreras, and
determined he was intoxicated and had left a crash scene, the
chief said. The oficer then called for an ambulance and police to
respond to the crash.
Stokoe said the victim suffered an injury to an arm but
declined an ambulance ride to a hospital. Ramos-Contreras
ended up in the Umatilla County Jail, Pendleton.

Kiwanis offer
scholarships
PENDLETON — The
Kiwanis Club of Pendleton
is offering two competitive
$1,000 scholarships to be
awarded for use in the fall,
winter and/or spring terms
of the 2016-2017 academic
year.
The purpose of the
scholarships is to support
students who: have been out
of high school for a period
of time and are returning
to school and/or a training
program; or, meet the irst
criteria, having successfully
completed at least one year
of training/school, and wish
to continue their undergrad-
uate/training/educational
pursuits; or, were unable
to complete their post-high
school training/education
previously started, have
been out of “school” (post
high school) for a period of
time, and wish to resume an
educational undergraduate
degree/program or course
of training at this time.
Scholarships will be
awarded in September
for use in the upcoming
academic year. To receive an

tion or application process,

offered through the city of

runs through Aug. 12 at

trail sports challenge
is planned at Camp
Meadowood Springs.
The Weston-McEwen
Lions Club is sponsoring
the event, which is June
25-26 at the camp, located
off Highway 204, 11 miles
out of Weston.
Camping is free for
riders and volunteers and
breakfast and lunch are
provided both days by the
Lions Club. The Saturday
night dinner is potluck, so
people are asked to bring a
dish to share.
