Johnson was born
on December 12,
1931, in Hardman,
Oregon.
She
graduated from
Heppner
High Greenup
School where she
met and married Clarence
Greenup. They moved to
Portland, Oregon, where
they raised their four sons
and a daughter.
She retired from Gilbert
Park Grade School as a
cook. She was known
as a Master Gardener,
dedicating her time and
expertise as a volunteer
for over three decades in
developing the landscape at
Leach Botanical Gardens.
She also volunteered to
help
children
in the Portland
School District
learn how to read.
She is loved and
will be missed by
many.
She
was
preceded in death
by her husband
Clarence and her
son Mark. She is
survived by her
sons
Michael,
Mitchell and Matthew,
daughter
Rita
Marie
Matney, sister Carolyn
Krauss, 11 grandchildren
and 12 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions
