THE MORROW COUNTY COURT will host an open house on
Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at 6:00 p.m at the at the Port of
Morrow Riverfront Center in Boardman, Oregon.
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has released the
environmentally preferred route for the Boardman to Hemingway
(B2H) transmission line project, along with other proposed routes
within Morrow County. The purpose of this open house is to give
the public opportunity to ask questions about the project and
submit written comment to the Morrow County Court.

NO SIGNIFICANT IMPACT
The Walla Walla Ranger District has completed the final
Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Thomas Creek
Restoration Project. The Responsible Official, Walla Walla
District Ranger Michael L. Rassbach has issued a draft Decision
Notice (DN) and Finding of No Significant Impact per 36 CFR
218 Subpart B. The Thomas Creek Restoration project planning
area is approximately 15,800 acres in size and is located in
Umatilla and Union Counties, Oregon, approximately 6 miles
northwest of Elgin, Oregon. The legal location of the proposed
project is within portions of T. 1 N. R. 37 E. sections 1, 2, and 12;
T. 1 N. R.38 E. sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12; T.
2 N. R. 37 E. sections 12, 13, 14, 15, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, and 36;
T. 2N. R. 38 E. sections 12, 13, 14, 15, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, and
36.
The Selected Alternative is Alternative B with no modifications.
The Selected Alternative includes approximately 1,270 acres of
commercial vegetation treatments, approximately 1,276 acres of
non-commercial vegetation treatments, commercial and non-
commercial treatments in Riparian Habitat Conservation Areas,
and approximately 942 acres of prescribed fire. Riparian planting,
placement of large woody debris, and subsoiling are also
included. Implementation of these activities will require up to 1.5
miles of temporary road, and use of approximately 14 miles of
