Police responded to
the scene shortly after the
robbery and remained at
the convenience store until
about 5 a.m.
The suspect was captured
on video and is described as
a Hispanic male, around 20
years old, 6 feet tall, with
a medium build and a thin
mustache.
The police chief said
the man did not display a
weapon.
“He never tried to
conceal his face,” Zumwalt
said. “We are hoping we can
get further information from
the public to identify that
suspect.”

said. In that incident, the
convenience store was
robbed at gunpoint in early
December.
“Anything

morning,” Zumwalt said.

people inside the burned-out
house at 80625 Lorraine Ave.,
Hermiston. The yellow caution
tape is still on the property,
the caller said, from when the
house caught ¿re the night of
Feb. 6. The caller also said
a male was there now and
burning some material.
9:07 a.m. - A Umatilla resi-
dent reported she was online
and discovered her identity was
stolen through a scam.

woman told police someone
dumped a dog by her home at

jumping into her car.
2:43 p.m. - A Pendleton
real estate agent told police
a former client is making
accusations against her and
trying to make her pay him a
large sum of money to keep
him from suing her. She asked
to speak to an of¿cer at her
place of business.
3:21 p.m. - A Hermiston
man reported he lost $2,000 in
a scam to someone claiming to
be his grandson who needed to
get out of jail.
4:17 p.m. - Two blond girls
about 8-10 years old appeared
to try and grab a train as it went
by at Southeast 17th Street and
Court Place, Pendleton. A caller
with Union Paci¿c 5ailroad
told police the train engineer
reported seeing the girls along
with a nearby maroon pickup.
The railroad also wanted
Pendleton police to call back
after an of¿cer checked the
area.
4:46 p.m. - Three dogs
attacked a wife and husband as
they rode bicycles on Winesap
5oad, Milton-Freewater.
The couple wanted to press
charges against the dogs¶
owner.
6:33 p.m. - A property
manager reported someone
abandoned a kitten at a rental
on Southeast Seventh Street,
Pendleton. She also said she
found a package in the freezer
labeled “drugs/venison” and
asked for an of¿cer to meet her.
7:04 p.m. - Pendleton police
received a report of a man
kicking and hitting his dog on
Southwest 2lson Avenue.
8:09 p.m. - Juveniles
shot Air Soft guns at a car
at Southwest 39th and 41st
streets, Pendleton. The driver
of that car told police the youth
were in a dark green Toyota
Camry or Honda, passed him,
then shot at his car. The pellets
struck his hand and forehead,
he said, but he was not hurt.
He also identi¿ed one of the
teenage shooters.
