Klamath Falls teen
pleads guilty in
death of father
KLAMATH FALLS (AP)
— A Klamath Falls teenager
has admitted killing his father.
The Herald and News
reports that 18-year-old
Roscoe Lee Townsend
pleaded guilty Wednesday
to criminally negligent
homicide and unlawful
discharge of a weapon in the
December shooting death of
Dustin Lee Townsend Sr.
The teenager was
sentenced to 12 years
in prison, starting in the
custody of the Oregon Youth

District Attorney Rob
Patridge says the incident
began when the elder
Townsend got into a ¿ght
with a different son while
traveling in a vehicle through
Bly. During the ¿ght, Roscoe
Townsend shot his father
twice with a bolt-action riÀe.
Patridge says alcohol was
a major factor.
The father had a lengthy
arrest record, and Patridge
