schools is eligible to submit
an application for this award.

the age of 18. He was born
in Pendleton, Oregon, on
March 1, 1997.
Cody was an incredible
young man who loved
spending time with his
family,
friends
and dog, Jessie.
He was quick to
crack a joke and
could always make
you smile. He was
an avid fan of the
Dallas Cowboys,
working out and his
F250 pickup.
Cody was a
freshman at the
University of Idaho Correa
studying
agri-
cultural business
and working to become a
member of the Sigma Chi
fraternity. In the summer,
Cody worked swathing grass
seed for his Uncle Devin
with “The Crew” driving
“The Classic.”
Cody will be greatly
missed by everyone that
knew him. He touched many
lives, always in a positive
way. His memory will live
forever in our hearts and we
are proud to call him son,
brother, grandson, nephew,

Jerry was born
on September 26,
1970, to Edward
and
Lorraine
(Harnden) Brosnan
in Pendleton, Ore.
He attended high
school in Heppner.
He was a member
of 4-H throughout Brosnan
grade
school
and Jerry played
football and ran track in
high school. Jerry was also
a member of the Catholic
Church.
From 1995- 2000, Jerry
worked in the timber industry
as a logger for McCarty
Logging, and from 2000-
2005 he worked for the
Walmart Distribution Center
as a forklift operator. After
suffering a traumatic head
injury, Jerry spent a year at
Elks Rehabilitation learning
to walk and talk again. In a
year’s time, he had improved
enough to live independently
and was able to go back to
work as a logger, which he
dearly loved. Learning to live
again was his greatest accom-
plishment and one he did very
successfully until his death.
Fishing, hunting, trips to
the ocean, cattle drives, night
herding cattle, and traveling
were among his favorite
things. Jerry was also a very
talented gardener and you
could always count on him to
send you home with a bag of
tomatoes! He was also very
generous and loved
to share with family
and friends.
Jerry is survived
by his mother,
Lorraine F. Brosnan
of Baker City, sister
Dyann L. Brosnan
and Greg McCarty
of Baker City, and
brothers Michael
(Mike) E. and
Dawn Brosnan of
Heppner, James D.
(Jim) and Carolyn
Brosnan of Barboursville,
Virginia, and Mark A. and
Sally Brosnan of Lexington.
He is also survived by his
nephews Clay McCarty, Ben
McCarty, Brent Brosnan and
Zachary Brosnan, and his
nieces Jolee McCarty and
Kaity Brosnan.
He is preceded in death
by his father, Edward M.
Brosnan.

David Reavis Mann

David passed away at
his home in McAllister,
Montana, with his wife Elis-
abeth, sons Chris and David,
grandson Gabe and
his beloved sister
LeeAnn at his
side. He was born
in Klamath Falls,
Ore., to Peggy
Lee Reavis and
Walter Eschebeck.
David was raised
on a cattle ranch
in Stan¿eld, Ore.,
and attended Herm-
iston High School
where he was a
star
basketball
player and made
the OSAA All State
Basketball Team Mann
in 1960, the ¿rst
in the history of Hermiston
High School.
David attended Colo-
rado State University on a
basketball scholarship and
pursued his lifelong desire
to become a veterinarian. He
later received his master’s
degree in public health from
the University of Michigan.
David married Sherrill Hess
after college and joined
the Air Force. He was
stationed in Tokyo, Tacoma,
Wash., Ann Arbor, Mich.,
San Antonio, Texas, and
Honolulu, Hawaii. While in
Tokyo, he supervised and
cared for the sentry dogs
and traveled extensively to
Vietnam to oversee their
care. During those years,
David and Sherrill had three
children, Chris, Jill and
David.
David retired from the
Air Force in 1979 and
established a successful
veterinary
practice
in
McMinnville, Ore. There
he married his second wife,
Elisabeth Hermsen. In 1996,
David sold his practice and
moved to his ranch outside
of McAllister, Montana,
where he lived out his
life doing what he loved:
hunting, ¿shing, traveling,
visiting his children and
grandchildren and
farming.
David
was blessed with
movie-star
good
looks and a person-
ality to match. He
made friends wher-
ever in the world he
went and was much
loved by them and
his family.
David and Elis-
abeth were very
involved with the
Child’s Passport to
Health, a founda-
tion that sponsors
children from third
world
countries
who have medical de¿cien-
cies and need to be housed
and cared for in the United
States while undergoing
treatment. During the course
of their participation in the
foundation, they provided
a home and care for eight
children at varying times.
David is predeceased
by his mother, Peggy
Lee Mann, father Walter
Eschebeck, stepfather Irvin
Mann, his ¿rst wife Sherrill
and his only daughter, Jill
Thornton. He is survived
by his wife Elisabeth, sons
Chris (Tracey) and David
(Kari), brother Linc (Pat),
sisters LeeAnn (Don), Julie
(Mark) and Debbie (Jamie),
and seven grandchildren.
