October is a busy and exciting month in
Eastern Oregon for REALTOR® members.
Each year during this time the five
REALTOR® Boards (Wallowa County, Union
County, Baker County, Umatilla County/
Pendleton and Columbia Basin/Hermiston)
hold their annual Board of Directors and
Officers elections. The elections are followed
by a banquet to install the new Directors and
Officers. This year was particularly exciting,
as during the Tri-County Installation
Banquet, Wallowa, Union and Baker
Counties held a vote, unanimously passing
the merger of their three boards. The new board
will now be called The Northeast Oregon Board
of REALTORS®.
Each board will have a chapter under the new
board allowing them to maintain their
independence, diversity and unique way of
serving clients and the community in their
area. They will also retain their current funds,
which are used mostly for community
outreach, sponsorships and charitable giving.
Each chapter and board has installed their own
set of 2016 Directors and Officers. With The
Northeast Oregon Board of REALTORS(r)
being voted on in late November.
In addition, every year around this time, each board, with the exception of Wallowa County, also sel ects their Realtor of the Year .
