RECORDS Friday, October 23, 2015 East Oregonian PUBLIC SAFETY LOG Larry Dennis Parks DEATH NOTICES WEDNESDAY Pendleton June 16, 1942-October 19, 2015 Donna Jean Badgett •Morrow County Sheriff’s Department received a report at 8:57 a.m. from a Lexington resident who said he had received a death threat via text message. •A blue 1970 Ford two-ton truck was reported stolen from Stateline Community Church, 85440 Highway 11, Milton- Freewater, at 9:12 a.m. Fourteen minutes later, a black 2012 Dodge Charger was reported stolen from Vista Trailer Park, 1800 N.E. 10th St., Hermiston. And an 18-year-old Missouri Foxtrotter gelding under foster care at the Hermiston Livestock Auction yard was sold at auction without permission, the owner reported at 9:28 a.m. The Umatilla County Sheriff’s 2f¿ce took a theft report for each of the calls. •Milton-Freewater police at 12:02 p.m. investigated the theft of a car from Sykes Enterprises Inc., 151 Sykes Blvd., Milton-Freewater. •A man tried to pay for gas at Boardman Shell, 101 Front St., with a counterfeit $50 bill, an employee reported at 12:36 p.m. Morrow County sheriff’s deputies and Boardman police responded. •Pendleton police responded to a report of a woman hit by a car in the vicinity of Southeast First Street and Court Avenue at 1:11 p.m. The woman was knocked down but was conscious and sitting on the curb. •A resident of Balm Fork Road, Heppner, called the Morrow County Sheriff’s Department at 4:14 p.m. to complain that a UPS driver drove by his residence at 60+ mph and almost ran someone off the road in front of his house. He requested contact from a sheriff’s deputy. •A caller at 5:29 p.m. reported to the Umatilla County Sheriff’s 2f¿ce that their son stole a calf from their property on Baggett Lane, Hermiston, and took it to a livestock sale yesterday. The caller said they saw a message saying he was asking for help transporting the animal. A sheriff’s deputy contacted both parties. •A resident of Winesap Road, Milton-Freewater, reported the theft of 30 pressure treated poles and livestock panels from her property at 7:22 p.m. The caller said a friend saw a white Dodge Àatbed pulling a trailer with a forklift leaving the house, and that she can see her stolen property at the residence next door. She requested contact from a Umatilla County sheriff’s deputy. •Stan¿eld police responded to a residence on South Main Street, Stan¿eld, after receiving a call at 8:20 p.m. about a possible ¿ght. The caller said a man carrying a club was in the empty lot next to her house banging on the fence of her neighbor and calling someone out to ¿ght, then walked away in the direction of the RV park at the corner of Paige Street and Highway 395. Police were unable to ¿nd the man. The funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s Epis- copal Church in Walla Walla on Wednesday, October 28, at 2:00 p.m. There will be an additional service, with burial, in Larry’s home town of Fayetteville, Tennessee. Viewing will be at Pendleton Pioneer Chapel from 12:00 to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27. He was preceded in death by his father J W Parks, mother Opal Parks, grand- parents Charlie and Ella Parks and Sam and Esther Polly, brothers Randall Parks and Tony Parks, niece Christy Parks, and friend Allen Pierce.
