Ellen was born to George and Marie (Fitzgerrel) Rueff in Decatur, Illinois, on July 7, 1933. She attended schooling in Decatur, and graduated from Stephen Decatur High School in 1952. She then attended the Paris Hospital School of Nursing for two years and graduated from the St. Francis School of Nursing in Peoria, Illinois. She married Fred Greene on June 30, 1958, in Alaska. They lived in Nome, Alaska, for twenty years. They then lived in Los Angeles County, California. While living in L.A. she worked for White Memorial Home Health for ¿ve years. She retired from nursing in 1996. Ellen came to Pendleton, Oregon, in 1997, where she resided until her death. She worked at Juniper House in Pendleton as the activity coordinator from March to December of 2001. Ellen volunteered her time as the secretary of the Northwest Repub- lican Party and was elected as one of six hundred Outstanding Women of America. She enjoyed painting, knitting and crafts. She was a lifetime member of the Nazarene Church. Ellen is survived by her daughter Deborah Carter and husband Curtis of Pilot Rock, Ore.; a brother, Paul Eugene Rueff of Missouri; a sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Mae Bollhorst of Decatur, Ill.; ¿ve grandchildren and ¿ve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Warren Boris Greene; a brother, George Albert Rueff; and a sister, Lillian Maxine Bennett. Martha Jo George, a resident of Milton-Free- water, Oregon, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla, Wash- ington. She was 78 years old. Martha was born in Pasadena, California, to James and Josie Flemming on April 22, 1937. She grad- uated from high school in California. She later married Pat George. She was a homemaker, and devoted her time to raising her eight children. She came to Oregon in 2005 to be with her daughters. She was a loving mother and grandmother and loved by everyone who ever knew her. She always had a smile on her face. Martha is survived by daughters Bonnie Gilbert-Boyd and Marian R. Gilbert of Pendleton, Ore., and Dorothy J. Gilbert of Cali- fornia; son Charles L. Gilbert of California; brother Jimmy Flemming of Florence, Ore.; sister Doris Flem- ming of Oregon; nieces and nephew Cindy and Jerry Gilbert; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and her best friend Pat O’fferrell. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Pat George; three sons, Clyde E. Gilbert, Kenneth J. Gilbert and Donald E. Gilbert; and a daughter, Angela M. George. She was born Sept. 19, 1954. Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home in Milton-Freewater is in charge of arrangements. Pendleton November 7, 1940-September 28, 2015 Donald W. Kennedy Raymond T. Schell, a Pendleton resident, passed away Monday, September 28, 2015, at his home. He was 74 years old. Arrangements are in care of Burns Mortuary of Pend- leton. R a y m o n d Schell was born November 7, 1940, in Fossil, Oregon, to Homer and Eva (Benge) Schell. He was the seventh of nine children. In 1951 the family moved to Pendleton, Ore., where he went on to school. He then Schell went on to join the U.S. Air Force. When he came back Pendleton he went to work for the rail- road, where he worked for Athena June 30, 1928-Oct. 2, 2015 19 years. He later went on to work for the local labor union for 20 years. Raymond is survived by a son, Dane Schell of Pendleton, Ore., and his siblings Betty Curnutt of Hermiston, Ore., Ernie Schell of Tw i c k e n h a m , Ore., Wanda McPherson and Robert Schell of Pendleton, Lollae Noreen-Spencer of Milton-Freewater, Ore., Teddie Rife of Malott, Wash., and Jim Schell of Flower Mound, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Homer Schell Jr., and wife Eileen McKay. Donald W. Kennedy, 87, of Athena died Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, in Walla Walla. He was born June 30, 1928.
