But Lt. Bill Caldera with Pendleton police reported that passenger has not iden- ti¿ed the driver. “She claims to not remember who was driving,” Caldera said in an email. “During the course of talking to the passenger, she provided us with the name of another person who was in the vehicle at the time of the crash. We are currently trying to track that person down to get a statement.” Jennifer Costley, children librarian at the Pendleton Public Library, parked her 2005 Kia Spectra on Sept. 14 in front of Sherwin Williams, 115 S.E. Emigrant Ave. Pendleton police Chief Stuart Roberts stated an of¿cer discovered the crash scene at approximately 5:20 a.m. The car was totaled, and the vehicle that caused the wreck also left behind parts. Two citizens reported hearing the crash, according to Roberts, and “described a similar vehicle as being responsible, but neither reported the incident.” Not calling, according to Roberts, can hurt an investi- gation. “Obviously, our success in solving such cases is contingent upon physical evidence and/or witness response (reporting immedi- ately, plate numbers, color, make, model, direction of travel, etc.),” Roberts stated in an email. “Most of the SUITS FILED •Portfolio Recovery Associ- ates LLC vs. Carlota Araujo; seeks $1,197.42 plus inter- est, costs and fees. •Portfolio Recovery Asso- ciates LLC vs. Jonathan Crosby; seeks $1,031 and $1,169.21 in separate suits, plus interest, costs and fees. •Portfolio Recovery Associ- ates LLC vs. Elvia Gonzalez; seeks $760.10 plus interest, costs and fees. •Portfolio Recovery Asso- ciates LLC vs. Randall D.
