of two possible state championship
games in Gresham
The Bucks, who rallied from
a loss earlier in the tournament to

to the championship series, had
to beat an undefeated Beaumont/
Parkside Thursday to set up a de
facto championship game on Friday

inning to claw past Beaumont/
Parkside despite tallying just three
hits and committing three errors

4 hits and runs and Pendleton
took the ¿ rst two games of a
district/area championship series
Thursday over La Grande
The Diamond Jaxx head to
Grants Pass next week for its state
tournament
In the day’s ¿ rst game,
Pendleton scored three runs in
the top of the sixth to clinch the
win behind Cockburn’s dominant
performance
La Grande got its two hits in
the ¿ rst two innings, but Cockburn
settled down for the next ¿ ve +e
¿ nished with seven strikeouts and
two walks in the shutout
Meanwhile, Pendleton was
struggling to score runs behind
him The DiamondJaxx got a
couple aboard in the top of the
¿ rst, but a double play and a
ground out alleviated the threat
That was until the top half of

a single, and Jack Peterson, trying
