A witness reported the incident and asked the man if he was OK, and he said he was. The witness told the Umatilla &RXQW\6KHULII¶V2I¿FHWKHGRJVZHUHD hunting breed, one black and one spotted brown. A few weeks ago the same dogs also bit the caller. •A Hermiston-area woman at 9:35 a.m. told law enforcement her mother-in-law was verbally disruptive, threatened her and called her lazy. She said she was calling on the DGYLFHRIDQRI¿FHU •The owner of property on the 300 block of Southeast Third Street, Pendleton, told police at 10:07 a.m. his son threw trash over the fence onto his property, and he has video of the offense. •A property owner on Walla Walla River Road, Milton-Freewater, told law enforce- ment he is developing 800-900 acres, but neighbors do not like that and keep trespassing and drinking on his property. •Boardman police at 10:16 a.m. received a report of possible bank fraud. •A Milton-Freewater resident of Miller Road at 1:59 p.m. reported her house was EHLQJÀRRGHGGXHWRWKHGUDLQV\VWHP6KH said the water went into the basement and WKHURDGZDVÀRRGHG ‡7KH0RUURZ&RXQW\6KHULII¶V2I¿FHDW 3:28 p.m. received a report that an individual dumped household garbage in the metal bin at the Umatilla Hatchery, 73959 Riverview Lane, Irrigon. A deputy responded and directed the person responsible to clean up the offending trash. •A Umatilla-area property owner reported she rented land to a man who kept llamas, and she is preparing the property for sale and found a dead llama. She said she is concerned about removing the carcass and if the renter may have neglected the llama. •Water after the rain storm ran foot deep in some areas of Barnhart and Stage Gulch road, Pendleton. A caller at 5:24 p.m. was concerned someone could get injured or worse driving in the area. •A caller at 8:19 p.m. reported a washout covered 20-25 feet of Buttercreek Road, Hermiston. •An employee of the Tesoro station, Umatilla, told police at 9:19 p.m. a male refused to leave the store and tried to shower in the public bathroom. The caller also said the male “was not intoxicated but acting a little strange and had a good sized knife on him.” •An Irrigon resident at 9:50 p.m. reported a raccoon is in a tree on Northeast Seventh Street after it killed some chickens. A Morrow County sheriff’s deputy told the person there was a trap down the street and provided the number of the government trapper. •A Weston resident at 10:44 p.m. reported someone threw items, possibly rocks or paintball pellets, at his trailer on North Water Street. •A Hermiston-area woman at 11:04 p.m. reported her mother came to her trailer and attacked her, pushed her and slapped her. Police release surveillance video in shooting investigation OLYMPIA (AP) — /DZ HQIRUFHPHQW RI¿FLDOV on Friday released surveillance video from a grocery store that is part of DQLQYHVWLJDWLRQRIDQRI¿- cer-involved shooting that wounded two men who were suspected of trying to steal beer. The video released by the Thurston County Sher- LII¶V 2I¿FH LQ :DVKLQJWRQ state shows two young black men walking into a store holding skateboards. The man then runs away. 2O\PSLD 2I¿FHU 5\DQ Donald was among those who responded around 1 a.m. Thursday to a 911 call from the Safeway store, which was released by the Olympia Police Depart- ment on Friday. In that call, the store worker says her hand was hit when the case of beer was thrown at her. Donald reported he was being assaulted with a skateboard before the shooting that left Bryson Chaplin, 21, in serious condition and Andre Thompson, 24, in stable condition. Police have LGHQWL¿HG WKH WZR DV VWHS- brothers and have said they are expected to survive. Chaplin was in intensive care, but his condition was upgraded from critical to VHULRXV KRVSLWDO RI¿FLDOV said Friday. The police chief said Donald wasn’t injured, EXW DQ RI¿FHU ³KDV WKH right to defend himself” if a suspect wields an object that could be used as a deadly weapon. Thursday’s shooting is being investigated by a team of detectives from several agencies.
