An Oregon judge has ruled
that a 61-year-old man did
nothing illegal when he
crouched in the aisle of a
Target store and snapped
photos up a 13-year-old’s
skirt.

abuse, a child pornography

The privacy law bans
clandestine photography in
bathrooms, locker rooms,
dressing rooms and tanning

rence said.

6-year-old Missouri boy’s
mother, grandmother and
aunt face charges after au-
thorities said they staged his
kidnapping because they
believed he was too nice
to people and they wanted
to teach him about possible
danger from strangers.
The Lincoln County

say they enlisted help from
the aunt’s co-worker, who
lured the child into his pick-
up after he got off a school
bus Monday.
Authorities said the man
told the boy he wouldn’t
“see his mommy again,”
and that he’d be “nailed to
the wall of a shed,” the St.
Louis Post-Dispatch re-
ported. He showed the boy
a handgun in an effort to
make him stop crying, au-
thorities said.
The man tied the child’s
hands and feet with plastic
bags and blindfolded him
with a jacket, the sheriff’s

Authorities said the boy was
kept in the basement for a
while, before untied and
told to go upstairs, where he
was lectured about staying
away from strangers.

meth for mail thefts
PORTLAND (AP) — The
lawyer for a Postal Service
employee who stole more
than 30,000 pieces of mail
from Portland residents told
the judge his client was on “a
two-year meth bender.”
The judge sentenced
33-year-old John Paul Osburn
to three years in prison Thurs-
day after he pleaded guilty to
theft and other charges.
The Oregonian reports
Osburn looked for birthday
cards with cash or gift cards,
mail-order medications and
DVDs to fuel a drug habit.
Police found out when a
man bought the contents of
an unpaid storage locker at
auction and found stolen mail
piled 5 feet high.
The Postal Service went
through the mail and de-
livered it with notes telling
recipients they were victims
of mail theft.
