While the next payment of income
taxes is not due until March 15, 11123,
returns may he filed alter December
31 of this year, according to informa
tion given from the internal revenue
office today. The early dale is set
so as to prevent too great an Influx of
returns during the last days of the
time limit.
Deer Hunters Many
Deer hunters in the Vkiah region
are very numerous, says R. A. Botteh
er, deputy I'matillu forest supervisor
who Is here today. He states, that
many bucks have been killed and that
hunters are flocking to the mountains
in the hope of killing deer before the
close of the season the latter part of
this month.
ISoad Crews At Work
Three road crews are now at work
in the Umatilla forest and with good
weather, one of the crews, at Frnzier,
in the southern division, will finish
construction work. Two other crews,
one at Tearson and the other at Tu
eannon, will not complete the work
this year. The former Is in the south
ern division and the latter In the
northern. '
