To Talk Tourist Matters x
. A meeting of the Pacific Northwest
Tourist association has been called to
meet In Tacoma April 29 and a re.
quest has been made that Pendleton
have a representative at the meeting,
according to a notice that has been re
ceived at the office of the Pendleton
Commercial Association.
Are Building Sidewalk
Fred Walters and F. H. Mytinger
are twp property owners along Kivor-
siae Drive wno are constructing sine
walks. A resolution authorizing the
construction of sidewalk on Riverside
Drive and Mark street was before tho
city council a fortnight ago. The Wal
ters and Mytlnger jobs are being done
under private contract.
Ayrshlrcs Arc Bought. .
F. H. Mytlnger has purchased
number of thoroughbred Ayrshire
cattle. Mr. Mytlnger, .who is one
of the leading Pendleton dairymen,
has bought a yearling bull from E.
W. VanPasel bf Wenatchee, and bIX

Newberg, Oregon. The cattle, which
are a Scotch breed, are a Very hardy
type. and are famous' as dairy ani

Kittchon Tends Fences
Rodney J. Kitchen of La Grande,
candidate for Joint senator from Un
ion, Umatilla and Morrow counties,
was a visitor In Pendleton today. He
is running in opposition ' to Senator
Eberhardt, also of La Orande. Mr.
Kitchen expects to return to Pendle
ton and Umatilla county about May :

Call Another Venire . s
A Venire of 30 additional talesmen
for Jury service was drawn 'yesterday
afternoon by the county clerk and the
sheriff for service during the April
term of court which will be resumed
Monday when the Vonderahe murder
trial will start. A total of 123 tales
men has been called. The excessive
number of prospective Jurors that
have been called has been made neces
sary by reason of the refusal of wom
en to serve.,

Moxley Is Sentenced '
Fred Moxley who has been held hv
the sheriff's office for several months
on a charge of issuing bad checks was
sentenced to' 18 months in the state
penitentiary yesterday afternoon In
circuit eourt. : The specific charge
against nira was obtaining money un

custody here he was In the company

authorities declare that Moxley's wife
and five children have been living at
