Holding Nazarene Meetings.
Ben F. Pritchett of Phoenix, Ari
zona, is now nere noiuing revival
meetings at the Nazarene church.
He began the meetings last evening
with a discussion of the subject:
"The origin of sin, who made the
devil?" He has a series of nine ser
mons to be given curing the revival.

with the Baptist church team of Ho.

when the two teams met last night
at the high school gymnasium. The
score was 24 to 21, but the outcome
of the game was an uncertain thing
until the closing whistle. After the
game Hollx fans were entertained
with refreshments which were served
by the Indians. The Milton high
team and the Pendleton second string
men played a 32 to 24 game, which,
the locals won. The high school first
team lost to tho W. S. C. frosh team
by a score of 30 to 15.

TOLEDO, Jan. 7. (U. P.) Walk

railroad caboose offered, friendly

out for a bit of rest. When he awoke
he was six miles from his beat. Un
able to give a satisfactory explanation

When asked about the charges
which have been the burden of the
rumors spoken of here for several
weeks, Chief Taylor declared they
were without foundation and were
fabrication from beginning to end.
"In the letter where reference Is
made to Ridgway, a mistake has been
made," the chief declared. "RIdgway
was not one of the men who made
that trip. There were three of us,
Sinclair, John F. Cassldy and myself.
We left here at 3 o'clock one after
noon with six suitcases filled with ex
hibits taken by us in a raid on the
headquarters of Chinese during the
Round-Up. We stopped at The Dalles
that night to eat, and while there, the!
chief of police of The Dalles talked
to us a minute at the lunch counter.
He never arrested us, nor, so far as I
know, did he ever have any intention
of arresting us. He Just stopped and
talked to us just the same as any of
ficer would if another officer was in
town and then went out of the eating
place. When we had finished eating,
we went out and got Into the car and
drove on to Portland that night bo-
cause we had to be there the next
I morning at 9 o'clock."
