of Medford, are the parents of a baby
daughter, born yesterday. Mrs. Mor
row will be remembered as Miss Al
berta Cavemler. formerly a member of
tho Pendleton high school faculty, and
has many friends here. The new ar
rival has been named Nancy.

Mr. and Mrs. A. Bruce Bailey, Jr.,
are the parents of a baby daughter
born yesterday morning in Portland.
Mr. and Mrs. Bailey formerly resided
here and Mrs. Bailey before her mar
riage was Miss Dorothy Hunziker. The
new arrival is the granddaughter of
Mrs. R. C. McDaniel.
MRS. HUNTLEY RETURNS.
Mr. and Mrs. B. 'M. Huntley and son
Philip are now domiciled in the Secur
ity Apnrtments. Mrs. Huntley has
just recently returned from Portland,
where she has been a patient at Good
Samaritan hospital. Mrs. Huntley's
many friends in Pendleton are wel
coming her back.

trading in wheat today on tho Chicago
market, December easing down to
11.24 3-4 from yesterday's close of
J1.2S 1-4, and May coming down from
yesterday's price of $1.31 3-4 to

P.) Bloody finger print, and a nail
studded club are the only clues today
to the fiendish murder of three mem
bers of one family. Willis Monroe,
his wife Mary and his 17 year old
daughter Neva were found In bed with
their skulls crushed. Ardlth. another
'daughter, 12 found with her face
beaten beyond recognition and skull
fractured, will probably die. There Is
no trace of robbery. The police ad
vance the theory that the deed was
done by a maniac or someone with a
grudge against Monroe.
Ardith Monroe, battered and bruis
ed, has regained conclousness In the
hospital. Physician made attempts to
question her. fihe said nothing but
"Mamma, dear, what happened." The
coroner' Jury are Investigating the
crime. Ardlth will probably lose her
j mind, according to physicians.

avert a new Balkan war. The League
of Nations Is expected to act concern
